MK New Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Updates Coming to Walt Disney World

My push here continues to be for something akin to Aquatopia from DisneySea. It's inherently themed from all sides (which is necessary considering it's basically surrounded), it helps offset the loss of a major water feature on the opposite side of the park, and it transitions way better from Fantasyland in Tomorrowland. You could even add a Nautilus prop into the nook behind Mad Tea Party for good measure.
I would agree with that completely...it would be beautiful and something new and fresh... also having a smaller footprint than a raceway... They could make it look very futuristic to jive with the Tomorrowland side, or more steam punk Jules Vernian in style...

The ride has already established the bright green and purple look; I would hope they would feel they don't have a choice but to continue with that.

I would say Buzz has established that color scheme himself, but Lightyear showed us he doesn't have as much pull with the creatives as you would expect. Should've been more careful with his contracts, poor guy.

... Why? I probably agree with regard to the graphics contained to the actual signage, but given how Tomorrowland is set up, the exterior should be congruent with the land itself, not with the toy world of the ride. Just as the exterior of Peter Pan's Flight conforms to the tourney tents of its surroundings rather than Edwardian London, so too should the exterior of Buzz be largely consistent with its retrofuturistic surroundings.

Spring this year. That's all that's been officially announced.
"Seasons" seem to be the trend for opening "dates." It's technically Spring June 20th.

I can't recall anything official opening before the announced date except Wonders of Life (all the publicity I've seen says "Opening December 1989," but it officially opened October 19th).

Their options are 1) stay vague and leave people guessing, or 2) provide specifics, potentially miss said date, and disappoint people and make themselves look bad. I prefer the former

Here are some pictures from about two hours ago. The Concrete is still ripped up.
