Hoping that all my WDW friends are safe during this stormy weather
!
This is like the movie ( "The Day After Tomorrow " ) back when Al Gore brought this up many moons ago. It IS good that the "Global warming " term was altered to "Climate Change". It seems that we are now stuck with colder and snowier winters . I hate it!Just no, oh heck no, lots of words I'm not allowed to use here no
EURO for next weekend

Snowfall total in my area was 20 inches. We're having a small storm this afternoon with another 2-3 inches. So not exactly 2 feet. Oh well.
If you can, try to buy a (small bag, maybe 15-20 pds.) of ice melt (salt) from your local Ace Hardware or Lowes, Home Depot, etc. It's just good to have on hand in the winter, even though you guys don't normally have to deal with snow and ice. Also, if you have sand, that's helpful on icy surfaces -- it will help a bit.I posted yesterday morning that we got about one quarter to one half inch accumulation, of freezing rain, sleet and snow. Seems we got more like an inch, maybe a little more out from under the trees.
We had 2 dudes from the water company come by earlier asking if we reported a leak. Uh, nope. They double checked the address and it was indeed ours, but no clue what was up with that.
We told them the elderly neighbor lady next door had a leak in her front yard at one point, but that we were told it was fixed.
They said they would pressure test for any leaks, so I went with them out to the meter.
No leaks and pressure was good for both homes.
Anyway, when I followed them to the meter, there was slippin’ and slidin’ on our front walk.
So, Carolyn, Matthew and I did somethin’ we’ve never, ever done before…we shoveled the front walk…!!!!!!!
Well, sort of…….problem was…….it was now covered with about an inch of solid ice.
Yesterday it still had a bit of a snowy feel to it, but it was now all ice. And, if y’all remember from pics I’ve posted of Halloween and Christmas decorations, we have a bit of a long walkway from our driveway to the front door.
I used a sharp planting shovel to chop it up, Matthew followed with a flathead shovel to clear the chunks and Carolyn followed him with a shop broom to disperse the powder so we don’t have a refreeze (supposed to be in the teens again) situation tonight…we had a great system that, hopefully, we’ll never have to use again…!!!!!
Some pics below from this morning, and as proof of our “shoveled” front walk…!!!

Before @Figgy1 tries to tell me...I'll beat her to the punch.
Brick Schools....Toms River Schools....Jackson Schools are all closed tomorrow.
The reason is that all though almost everyone has cleared their driveways, most kids get to school
in my county via school buses. The bus stops are often at the corner of the street. The town plows pushed a mountain of snow where kids usually stand. My lawn's grass is a bus stop. Naturally
I did not shovel my lawnNobody will. So, there are bus stop locations all across town that are not safe for the kids.
Winter......really.......stinks!
That’s a decent amount of snow. Nothing to laugh at!
Ok. Whatever. LolIt's not winters fault I can tell you that much
Yah, that's always an issue after a big snowfall. It's the high snowbank blockages of school bus stops, as well as the corners of many streets. It's always a challenge to see around corners of intersections, when there's an 8 foot mountain of snow, blocking the view. Anyway, all schools around here are also closed for today as well. The kids are happy! Before @Figgy1 tries to tell me...I'll beat her to the punch.
