Walt Disney Imagineering Files New Permit for Hollywood Studios Entrance Toll Plaza Work
<1%, it got put here not all that long ago. What are the odds they move it to open up more space for future expansion
They have a 13’-6” vertical clearance. Anything taller than that requires an oversized permit from FDOT.When they built the new entrance, their measurements were off. There is not enough clearance for semi trailers or large bases. They have to drive to the side of it.
I wonder if this is to fix it.
Walt Disney Imagineering isn’t involved in maintenance or replacing things. They get involved when the appearance is going to be changed.I don’t know if this level of work requires a permit, but there was that nasty storm on Sunday with sudden and high winds and it caused quite a bit of damage. One of the metal blue directional signs snapped clean off right by the toll booths and has been sitting on the ground coned off for the last few days. Could this be related to fixing that or maybe replacing all the signs with something more secure?
That's got to be lots of fun when major hurricanes roll through the area... the idea of razor-sharp highway signs flying through the air adds another layer of thrill factor as you attempt to deftly dodge falling scrub oak and palm trees.there’s a chance it failed as designed
Do you remember how during Hurricane Charlie dozens of directional signs around the resort failed in the exact same way in the exact same spot? That wasn’t coincidentalThat's got to be lots of fun when major hurricanes roll through the area... the idea of razor-sharp highway signs flying through the air adds another layer of thrill factor as you attempt to deftly dodge falling scrub oak and palm trees.
They all ended up in downtown Orlando I think.....Do you remember how during Hurricane Charlie dozens of directional signs around the resort failed in the exact same way in the exact same spot? That wasn’t coincidental
Ummm that’s the entire point of having a designed failure point. So if the product does face conditions of stress beyond criteria, it “breaks”/fails in a manner that is predictable, and that results in as least a dangerous condition as possibleThat's got to be lots of fun when major hurricanes roll through the area... the idea of razor-sharp highway signs flying through the air adds another layer of thrill factor as you attempt to deftly dodge falling scrub oak and palm trees.
