New Tomorrowland @ Disneyland? Is this the year it finally gets announced? No, and that’s OK

I'd also like to point out that when I was young, I was able to ride the PeopleMover with my grandma. And she was COMFORTABLE, she could reposition her legs if they were aching, stretch a little if she wanted. You can't do that with super restrictive coaster seating. Even if an old person like her could ride with next to a grandchild in the coaster apparatus, she likely wouldn't want to. You'd have plenty of old folks saying "Eh, doesn't look like this ride is for me." There's something somewhat undignified in asking an older person to sit in such an odd thing, but the PeopleMover was inviting, like a Jet Age luxury lounge.

Having ridden the original People Mover hundreds of times in my life, it really wasn't that great. It is what you rode when you where exhausted at the end of the day. Now you want to make modern park goers ride 60s tech that is in pretty much in every airport in the country. It is boring transportation that goes nowhere. I know I would rather see the return of the Skyway over some driving buckets simply because it is in the air. Granted park goers will ride anything simply because it exists.
Agreed. I remember riding in the 80's though the Tron Speed Tunnel and just laughing at how bad it was. Rocket Rods was a great idea on how to address the issue, but just underfunded.

Laughing at it as a 5 year old? I mean I was kind of an old soul too but damn. Haha. Maybe you mean the 90’s?

That’s happens to me. I started realizing that a lot of the memories I think were from when I was 6/7 years old were really more like 9/10 years old
Conversely, I remember certain TV shows from when I was a kid to find out they only aired for a few years when I was 4-6. Sure, I might have seen some in syndication, but I was amazed at how pieces of media stuck with me at such a young age.

The Skyway worked for the same reason the PeopleMover worked. It was there for elevation, motion, and perspective. The PeopleMover worked under very similar circumstances. It wasn’t there to impress you. It was there to make Tomorrowland feel like a future city. Kinetic energy.

Also if ‘going nowhere’ disqualifies an attraction, then the Railroad fails that test immediately. It’s literally a loop. But it's such an essential part of Disneyland and what makes it special from other amusement parks.

Yes guests can use the Railroad to get somewhere, but Disney primarily didn’t build it for that. I see most people wanting to take the full loop around the park.
If you can get somewhere, then the road isn't going nowhere.

The same can then be said about PM, it goes somewhere, it just happens to start and finish in the same location. So its not "transportation" in the traditional sense of it needing to "go somewhere" with stops, its a "transportation attraction" that takes you on a scenic loop around and through TL, ie an aerial tramway.
