I know, I know, that's the busiest time of year to go, but hear me out! Christmas sucks for us right about now! And we decided that instead of staying home and wallowing in our sorrow, we would go somewhere and try to keep ourselves busy. Christmas 2022 obviously sucked, but we were so numb at that point that it's all a blur. Then 2023 was horrific and felt like the first Christmas without Lily. Needless to say, I didn't feel like decorating nor celebrating, so we didn't do a whole lot that year. Last year, I still couldn't bring myself to decorate, but we tried to attend a few celebrations and ease back into things. My anniversary trip with Brian last year helped get me closer to remembering that I used to love Christmas and all the decorations, but I'm still not sure I would be able to decorate the house this year either, so now I won't have to worry about it too much! The boys don't necessarily want to go anywhere, but they grudgingly agreed to go with us when I promised we would make it as laid back and stress free as possible, which I know means we will miss seeing and doing a lot of things! As you can surmise from my picture, we are staying at Caribbean Beach again. I booked two (hopefully connecting) standard view 5th sleeper rooms. I am going to request to be in Trinidad again this year.

Trip Report I May Have Done a Thing... (now the actual report)(and finished!)

I know, I know, that's the busiest time of year to go, but hear me out! Christmas sucks for us right about now! When the show ended, we headed out right away to try to beat the rush to the Skyliner. And we did! I can definitely see the allure of hanging out away from the crowds for awhile if you were taking a bus back to your resort because you couldn't be much further away from the bus stops than we were, but we decided that not waiting in a long line at the Skyliner was much preferable to hanging out. We made sure to check in with our server before we left, but it was prepaid including tip so we didn't need to do anything else.

Thank you for such an amazing, detailed trip report. I am transported to the parks and it makes me even more excited about my trip this March. I love the family photos and glad you able to make so many more happy memories (even if some are bittersweet).

Day 8 Saturday, Dec. 27 mini golf and AK
We had a slow start this morning as we didn't have to be anywhere until 9:45. We decided to drive to our brunch ADR. I was a little worried about what traffic would be like around MK so we left the room at 9, but there ended up not being much at all!

We checked in on the app as soon as we could, and were called up about 2 minutes later.
Brian, Owen, and I all got the breakfast skillet.
Logan got a waffle and bacon.
All was delicious! And it all came out very quickly and we were done eating and leaving the restaurant within 45 minutes.
Since we finished much earlier than we anticipated, we decided to hit Disney Springs for a few before our mini golf reservation.

I found a few more trees that I missed our first day.
Then it was time to head to our next destination.
I made us a reservation for mini golf about 2 weeks before the trip. I wanted the summer side of Winter Summerland, but the only reservation available was for the winter side, so winter side again it was!! I am glad we had the reservation though because when we got there at about 11:40, they were telling people it was an hour wait!
We tried parking in the actual lot, but it was full since it is so tiny.
So we had to park in the Blizzard Beach lot and followed the signs to get to the entrance.
After checking in, we found a bench to wait on, so I had to take a few pics!
Soon enough it was our turn.
I had a rough start and was playing very poorly, but later started doing really well. Owen had the nerve to accuse me of faking it in the beginning! Not sure what he thought that was going to get me, but I ended up losing anyway!

It didn't!! Logan decided it wasn't worth it.
I even warned everyone about getting wet, and this still happened!
We had a good laugh at this last hole because the last time we did this course, multiple of us had an issue with what was supposed to be an easy end to the game with a single stroke. Logan was the only one this time!
When we finished, it seemed to take forever for Owen and Brian to add up the scores, so I got to take lots more pics!
