Great exit interview. Mentions the status, or lack of status, on a half dozen projects (Rian Johnson, Taika, Mangold, Kinberg). Is explicitly asked by the interviewer if she’s missed anything - and she never mentions Sharmeen Obiad-Chinoy at all, or any of the Rey projects.

Filoni makes me uneasy, as I'm not huge on Clone Wars or Rebels or any of the weird "gray Jedi" stuff that was introduced therein. Better than Kennedy, for sure, but the jury's still out.

But filoni has a lot to prove beyond that

And the real issue is Disney decided to be associated with galactic crap…instead of diving deep into why Star Wars hit in the first place and getting it right. They treated it like it was hello kitty or something…just a collection of imagines and labels that didn’t have to have any character or themes behind it.

He should be given a chance of course, but I am really surprised more people don't also have reservations.

I am sure we won't get a ST like mess out of him as he isn't likely to not have stories planned out, but a bunch of "meh" level content and worse scattered all over the timeline is certainly still on the table.

FWIW They were shut down. Cant say a lot about what went on but I got laid off during pre-production on one of them. Didn't affect me much as I was freelance and working on other projects, but a few people I work with were full time and tied to two Lucas projects at once and were just let go on the spot.

IIRC was in the region of approx 50 people in the UK production side that were let go. We all knew it was coming, we were going weeks between any real progress happening and were just dealing with excuse after excuse from above on why things were being held up. We literally had soundstages sitting empty for over a year during a period where they could've been rented out for a premium but weren't allowed to do so as they kept saying we'd need them "soon".

Funnily enough a fair few of us are now back together, just working with an incredible team at Leavesden on a long running project instead so alls well that ends well!

As for what happens next at Lucas who knows, but I've got very little hope of it improving any time soon. The issues are bigger than one person at this point.

They torpedoed the biggest movie franchise in modern Hollywood…
