MK Piston Peak and Villains Land Construction Thread

Remember the Epic pictures after a couple of big rains?
The whole site was under water and running a few pumps dried it out after a while. I'm sure they can put in pumps if necessary

Sure but that wouldn't be any extra worry it would be expected. I guess I'm asking if they are more worried than usual for a worksite.

Its a construction site.....in Florida. There is going to be dewatering needed.

This isn't really all that unusual of a project. Its a known method of construction, taking place in an area that has seen construction projects take place in the past, by an experienced contractor. Why would they need to be "more worried than usual?"

I don't think it would be the case, but there could be a instance where the ground couldn't absorb water at a typical rate. Just thinking outloud.
The ground can’t absorb because it’s the soil cement base that was the riverbed. They’re building the stormwater drainage because the whole area has been reclassified as an impervious surface that requires stormwater management. In the near term, getting water out will not be much different than when they would drain the river for work.

WDI Files Construction Permit for Keelboat Landing as Cars and Villains Lands Prep Continues a Magic Kingdom

I'm amazed the building is still there, but I always had the impression it was going away. I'll be glad if at least part of it remains. I've been wondering if it's been given even basic maintenance in recent years.

The Mike Fink Keelboats was such a delightful ride. You were told the story of the race as you rounded the "Rivers." Last time on it (of many) was 2000. Certainly doesn't feel that long ago.

Magic Kingdom will also almost certainly redo Space Mountain after Big Thunder Mountain, and if they do, Magic Kingdom with its new lands and plussings will be such an elite park.
Magic Kingdom has been the number one theme park in the world for over 25 years and is already the most elite park. When you’re number one, the goal is to not become number two by messing it up.
