same with losing the hat and the Movie Ride within two years of each other.
"it's better than nothing" ...but .....sadly there's less and less beauty behind those beautiful WDW facades.

Started in/with WDW's Main Street imo. Main Street West is now almost-entirely a JCP. Main Street East is a bit less bad.

I saw a recent video of DL's Emporium...it still has charm in spite of doing a similar (but much smaller) "expansion."

ohhh...it wasn't worth the "trade." You've helped convince me that, at least to-date, 1994-2007 was the peak of SSE. From the first time I rode the current version in 2007, I still keep cringing at certain points, and if you cut me some slack from the initial "shock/surprise" of the "new" ending being there in the first place, I never not hated the new ending (especially when contrasted with the magnificence of the 1994 ending)

I just never not hated that wand.

And I may be "all by myself" on this one...but...as "nice" as the new lights are......I still prefer the former nighttime outdoor SSE lighting.

Something about it was most-soothing for me.
I actually like the new lighting package. I could have lived without it if I could get ROE back, but I will admit it is probably one of the few actual improvements of the re-imagining other than the entrance.

it's certainly not bad...and I'm very happy it gave new life/popularity/appeal to the building...and it was one of the parts of the "redo" that didn't outright s***....and I certainly acknowledge that I'm in the superminority (maybe even "of 1") for still preferring the "old" way.

Time for a thread resurrection, as we approach D23 this year, I have to imagine badge on sale date information have to be coming up this week or next week?

EDIT: For reference, badges were announced to go on sale on January 10th for 2024’s expo. With actual sale taking place on March 26th.

I’m hoping that badges go on sale no earlier than mid-March as I will be on a cruise the first few days of March.

I've been obsessively checking my email and the website for any news. Planning for D23 is the only thing keeping me semi- sane right now. I feel like it's got to be soon.
I did notice on the website that it says priority registration will be given to "Gold Members on the essential, choice, and complete plan." There's no mention of a Disney Visa presale this time, so I wonder if they're doing away with that perk. And if that's the case, I'm wondering if it's going to be just one presale for all Gold members, or if it's going to be split, with the highest-tier members getting the first shot, and the people on the lowest-tier "essential" plan going second.
