But man how soft did they think this summer was going to be?

Star Wars expanding timelines

I guess it’s not fair to include the new Mando Missions and Soarin Across America as those are debuting based off the movie release and Americas 250th.

  • Beginning April 29, 2026, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland park will expand its timeline to include more Star Wars eras.
  • Darth Vader, Leia Organa, Han Solo, and Luke Skywalker will arrive on Batuu, joining other beloved characters roaming the Outer Rim outpost. Rey and the Resistance will continue their fight against the First Order in the Resistance Camp.
  • Musical selections from John Williams’ Star Wars film scores will be played throughout the land.

Good news for Star Wars land. Now they just need to paint it some more vibrant colors and turn Rise of the Resistance into Rise of the Rebellion with OT characters.

Oh wait, Mando! I think that means we’ll be seeing Luke in his black clothes. I was hoping for the tattooine white robe. Or beige fatigues from Empire.

Then again, if Vader is present, that means there’s still a (new) hope!

Only about 6 years overdue.

Now if they added han solo to the Falcon ride and changed rise of the resistance to the OT- that'd be something.

Right. Good first step but ideally these changes would have came with an attraction that’s centered around the OT. Still waiting for that Speederbike/ Endor/ Ewok coaster or a Luke X Wing Death Star trench run coaster. I want to see some Ewoks. I want some creatures/ aliens. Lightsabers. The Force. Currently lightsabers in terms of show are pretty much paywalled. A Jabba the Hutt AA somewhere. A yoda walk through with projections. A dungeon with an AA Rancor. Stuff like that. I’d like for there to be more of a sense of discovery and exploration.

They built a 14 acre Star Wars Land where they paywalled lightsabers and there is no mention of the force. Lol

That one is probably still not gonna happen (at least anytime soon), easy (and cheap) to add some new M&Gs and walkaround characters, lot harder to add a whole new attraction. But I agree with the sentiment.

If this wasn't on the official site, I would have pegged it as a prank from one of you guys!!

gonna be the odd one out here and say that i'm disappointed that disney is going in this direction. we all know hyperspace mountain will continue to return to tomorrowland regardless so why not keep all of the non-story-specific stuff there?

this feels a lot like the galactic starcruiser in that disney swung, missed, and they're now admitting defeat while trying to keep their dignity intact - and seeing them backtrack on what was a genuinely unique and innovative idea is not a great thing in my mind. they're giving up on innovation and commitment to story in favor of iger's mandates to keep things as safe as possible in all aspects

(but i am also the biggest fan of light magic so maybe i'm just interested in innovative concepts doomed to fail)

Lots to take in with this news. I like some things about it, saddened by a handful of others. If nothing else, it finally puts to rest the "will they, won't they" in terms of committing to a change like this one way or another. Many of the changes won't make too much sense if you like to think too hard about Star Wars like me but I sincerely doubt the average Disneyland guest or casual Star Wars fan will care. Happy for them. On that note, Disneyland's version appears it will be some weird timeline mix of Original Trilogy, New Republic and Sequel Trilogy.

Meanwhile, as I am someone who prefers the Prequels to all of those:

Can I start my asking for a General Grievous walk around character now?

They really need to free Darth Vader from the Visa photo op back room in Launch Bay.

Put up signs to the lightsaber and droid build rooms. Those things are not obvious to find. Nice to hear opening music when you enter the land too bad it isn't everywhere.
