I know, I know, that's the busiest time of year to go, but hear me out! Christmas sucks for us right about now! And we decided that instead of staying home and wallowing in our sorrow, we would go somewhere and try to keep ourselves busy. Christmas 2022 obviously sucked, but we were so numb at that point that it's all a blur. Then 2023 was horrific and felt like the first Christmas without Lily. Needless to say, I didn't feel like decorating nor celebrating, so we didn't do a whole lot that year. Last year, I still couldn't bring myself to decorate, but we tried to attend a few celebrations and ease back into things. My anniversary trip with Brian last year helped get me closer to remembering that I used to love Christmas and all the decorations, but I'm still not sure I would be able to decorate the house this year either, so now I won't have to worry about it too much! The boys don't necessarily want to go anywhere, but they grudgingly agreed to go with us when I promised we would make it as laid back and stress free as possible, which I know means we will miss seeing and doing a lot of things! As you can surmise from my picture, we are staying at Caribbean Beach again. I booked two (hopefully connecting) standard view 5th sleeper rooms. I am going to request to be in Trinidad again this year.

Trip Report I May Have Done a Thing... (now the actual report)

I know, I know, that's the busiest time of year to go, but hear me out! Christmas sucks for us right about now! And we decided that instead of staying home and wallowing in our sorrow, we would go somewhere and try to keep ourselves busy. By then, the boys let us know they were on the way to Epcot. We decided we had time to get some pics at the front of the park before meeting up with them.
We timed it perfectly and caught up to them as they were walking by Connections to head to GotG.
We got September! So still 5 of 6 for me and 4 of 6 for the boys. 2 more chances to get the last ones.
There was nothing else the boys wanted to do in Epcot, so we headed to the monorail to transfer to Magic Kingdom.

We made it to Magic Kingdom with no issues. It is so nice not having to go through bag check again since they moved the monorail stations within the "boundaries".
We made our way up Main Street through the Emporium.
I can't recall why, but we ended up in Adventureland and I was getting a little hungry, so we grabbed a snack for Brian and I to share.
We tried the pepperoni pizza ones. They were ok. Nothing special, but I would eat them again. I apparently forgot to take a picture of them before we ate them. Oops!
We made our way up Main Street through the Emporium.

Our first LL wasn't for awhile because I hadn't been sure how long we would want to spend in Epcot that morning, so we took a moment to check out wait times and decide what we wanted to do. Most of the times were longer than we were wanting to wait, so we decided to head to Tomorrowland for the Peoplemover since it was 5 minutes. We chose the long route so as to avoid trying to cross through the hub which was a mob scene.
Next up was Carousel of Progress.

Brian made it clear that he intended to take a nap before we even entered.
Surprisingly, this was the only time I caught him napping this trip!
I had to get a pic of the Christmas scene!
Then we decided to do PhilharMagic since we hadn't done it since the kids were little.
It was fun to see the new scenes.
Then it was time to head towards our first LL.

I chose not to take pics of the walls on the way. I am still trying to deny the fact that they have ripped out the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island.
So disappointing that Big Thunder was closed!
I used a cheap plastic poncho to cover my bag and my lap, but I still somehow ended up with a wet butt! I tried my best to duck against Brian, but my hair also ended up wet!
The boys were not impressed. It may be awhile before we ride again since I hate getting wet and then having to walk around the park.
After scanning in, I was able to get us a Space Mountain LL for after fireworks.
Our next LL was in Adventureland, but we had a little while to wait, so decided to check out the Enchanted Tiki Room.
The boys were definitely not impressed with this one and have no plans to ever watch again!!

I made us stop on Main Street to see if they had the glass tree and ball ornaments I wanted. They had an even more piddly selection than DS had. I was so disappointed.

We bought that tree and a lovely set of ornaments in August at DS as a gift for my mom who was watching our cats. Maybe you can plan an off-season trip, just to get the ones you want.
It really was!
