I was about to ask why this meet-and-greet is still here...
Same of how why Elena of Avalor is still at Magic Kingdom, even though her show ended over five years ago and as well as why Asha is still at Epcot even though Wish (which came out the same year as the Little Mermaid remake) exactly became a commercial failure and was phased out from Disneyland Park on the other side of the country and yet she’s still at WDW, even though Wish became a mostly forgotten Disney movie that very few will remember

Hollywood Studios is basically going through its version of the EPCOT transformation but Disney just isn't announcing a dozen plans at once in case they fall through again lol

Just like most of the princesses, live action Stitch is not really meaningfully different enough to offer a live action M&G alternative. Cinderella and Little Mermaid are the two main ones with significant departures in terms of costuming and appearance, some of the villain-centric reimaginings aside.
The box office says differently. And it is newer. And theyre making a sequel. And they can use the little puppet they used for advertising.

By all means, i didnt like the new movie. But it obviously was a hit.

That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that live action Stitch does not warrant separate representation from cartoon Stitch because there's no meaningful visual distinction between them. Just trot out the old costume. By contrast, live action Cinderella or live action Ariel would be styled, dressed, and cast very differently from their animated counterparts.

How can you say that?? Right now, I bet there are tens… TENS, I say… of local Disney adults picking out their mermaid-themed wardrobe and Loungefly bag and Ariel-themed Mickey ears in breathless anticipation of this.

I disagree... Otherwise he would have just looked the same in the new film or the little remote controlled puppets they used for advertising.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. He looks essentially the same in both films, just obviously with more realistic fur in the new film since it's CGI instead of animation. I looked up what I assume you're referring to with the puppets, and they seem to be the exact same make with a slightly updated fur coloration. Are you suggesting guests would be really excited for a second Stitch M&G because it had a slightly lighter shade of fur and different ear interior color? The different "versions" of princesses work even in the same park because they're showing up in obviously different variants of fantasy attire (e.g. Briar Rose vs. Princess Aurora, mermaid Ariel vs. Eric's castle Ariel, peasant Belle vs. ballroom Belle, etc.). On the other hand, you wouldn't have the same people lining up twice for Snow White with jet-black wig and Snow White with slightly different ebony wig.

Ok. You're just arguing for the sake of arguing. Jeez.
