Agreed. Start a conversation on the topic if you want, but dropping in like a runaway boulder (now I’m on topic!) just to complain that it’s not on topic when you also don’t have anything on topic to add seems a bit odd.Maybe instead of constantly being critical of topic changes one might take the posting opportunity to actually add to the original topic instead of just policing those that strayed.
I admit I'm as guilty as virtually anyone with participating in the tangents.I came for an update on Indy and I'm reading Star Wars, Piston Peak, Liberty Square. Sigh. . .
To be fair there is only so far you can go with the original topic all there is to say is a cast member was injured, he is expected to recover, and no guests were hurt. Theres really not much else to say.I admit I'm as guilty as virtually anyone with participating in the tangents.
It would be ideal if we discussed whether Liberty Square is a Land on a thread about whether Liberty Square is a land.
This is why I read all the threads. I don't want to miss anything I do care about reading/discussing. For example, I know nothing about Encanto whatsoever, but I read the Encanto thread because the tangents are topics that I'm also familiar with.
There are not that many details yet on what Encanto will be, never mind how it fits in DAK.This is why I read all the threads. I don't want to miss anything I do care about reading/discussing. For example, I know nothing about Encanto whatsoever, but I read the Encanto thread because the tangents are topics that I'm also familiar with.
As a lifelong Transformers fan and collector, you got that backwards-the TV shows/movies/comic books were made to sell the toys. In the original animated movie, alot of the original characters were killed off so that they could sell more of the new line of figures that were being released.or that the toys for franchises like Transformers or Power Rangers are designed to sell the TV Shows.
No, just telling it like it is! Spin it anyway you like it doesn't change plus isn't calling me out for policing the same thing for you?Ah, but isn't calling out the so-called "thread police" for trying to keep the thread on topic in effect "policing" the thread?
It's more like pointing out the irony in complaining about policing, but I don't have any problem with trying to keep threads on track*.No, just telling it like it is! Spin it anyway you like it doesn't change plus isn't calling me out for policing the same thing for you?
I knew the first part...but not the secondAs a lifelong Transformers fan and collector, you got that backwards-the TV shows/movies/comic books were made to sell the toys. In the original animated movie, alot of the original characters were killed off so that they could sell more of the new line of figures that were being released.
maybe this was "the boulder that broke the camel's back"I can't believe I'm saying this, because it goes against my philosophy on classic attractions-but I think this show has run it's course. If Disney had changed the show periodically over the years, with new sequences, new set pieces, etc, then it would be completely different. Most people who have regularly visited WDW over the years have seen this show over and over, and that parcel of land could be used for something new. However, to be honest, I am not that confident that Disney would replace it with something as good or better.
I was thinking about responding to this, but that would be off topic so I won't. However, how about that Indiana Jones Stunt show boulder incident. Amazing or another Disney trick to close the show? That is the question! It's more like pointing out the irony in complaining about policing, but I don't have any problem with trying to keep threads on track*.
*Although I'm as guilty as most around here of triggering TDS**.
** Thread Drift Syndrome.
Um... that would have made Indy IV too short to be a feature film...I think it's clear what needs to happen here. It's time to replace the boulder with an exploding fridge.
So just another day at Magic?I came for an update on Indy and I'm reading Star Wars, Piston Peak, Liberty Square. Sigh. . .
I know that, I was being sarcastic. As a kid growing up I used to believe that the idea of Power Rangers was that the toys were sold to promote the TV show. Looking back at it as an adult that was clearly not the case and a lot of things that went over your head as a child become painfully obvious looking back on them as an adult. As a lifelong Transformers fan and collector, you got that backwards-the TV shows/movies/comic books were made to sell the toys. In the original animated movie, alot of the original characters were killed off so that they could sell more of the new line of figures that were being released.
Every single time. Its not happening. So it might as well stay. However, to be honest, I am not that confident that Disney would replace it with something as good or better.
My approach to the upcoming re-opening of the Buzz attraction in Tomorrowland.Every single time. Its not happening. So it might as well stay.
Hey atleast we didn't mention Splash again!I came for an update on Indy and I'm reading Star Wars, Piston Peak, Liberty Square. Sigh. . .
