Trip Report 12 Days of Christmas!

Lords will be a leaping and maids will be milking. Well, perhaps not. But we are heading to Disney for 12 days!

When? Tomorrow! (Dec 17th)

Where? The original plan was 10 days at Boardwalk Villas. We have a 1 br villa with a Boardwalk view. We added 2 additional days to the front end of the trip at Wilderness Lodge so we now have 12 days total!

Who? In a shocking turn of events, C (my wife) has managed to stay healthy amd we have no kittens or pregnant momma cats to care for, so finally we will be taking a trip together!

We will also be joined by Baileys family! Bailey is the black Labrador service K9 I trained and have had 2 trips at WDW with.

Baileys family will be down for 8 days with us. They arrive a few days after us. It will be a party of 7 total with their children included.

But wait, theres more...Akira (one of our Malinios) will be with us as well.

That's 7 humans and 2 pups!

We've already got several dining reservations planned and a few Holliday festivities that ill share later.

Im off to a short day at work and ill update later. Get your pipers piping and your Geese a-laying!

Sunday ctd...

We headed out of Epxot and took the Skyliner over to HS. We had a dining reservation and also, I needed to complete my mission of finding the watch I wanted to get for C!

First, the guys rode Slinky Dog Dash as the girls went to check in at out dining reservations.

It was time to eat! But not for Justin and I. We left the girls amd kids at dinner and ventured out to find the watch. We concocted a story about needing to watch a very important football game since it was the championship weekend for our fantasy league.

It was time travel food for the rest of the gang!

As Justin amd I heaed out, i wondered if C would realize that there isnt really any place to watch football at the studios lol (she never mentioned it)

We went to Legends Of Hollywood for the watch and they had it!

With the watch finally acquired we thought the hard part was over. We were wrong!

It was a Jollywood Nigjts event that night and by the time we left the shop tje CMs were checking for wristbands and escorting people towards the front of the park. Amd we were not able to join them at Sci Fi since we weren't in the reservarion (a flaw in our genius plan to go "watch football instead")

We did have Bailey with is tho and he would be a big help! We went over to the stand and each ordered a beer amd stood off to the side. The CMs hadnt been going near this area. We actually got to watch the projection shows on ToT for about 20 minutes before our first encounter. When the CMs got close, we would begin adjusting Baileys harness to appear busy and not be messed with. It worked well. But when I went to order another round of beers, I noticed 2 CMs approach amd they were speaking with Justin. It appeared to be friendly from my viewpoint.

I returned to Justin chatting up the CMs about Bailey and they eventually asked if we had wristbands. We clearly did not lol. But we explained we were waiting on family adter buying a gift at Legends Of Hollywood. The CMs were kind enough to allow us to wait off to the side. Im sure it was Bailey that softened them up a bit. Amd the girls had texted that they would be heading our way shortly.

We all met up and Justin and I told them our story of Oceans Eleven style maneuvering to evade capture! They got a good laugh at our impressive level of being dorks.

They headed to a bus and C and I walked home. I was starving so we parted ways at Boardwalk and I went grab a burger at Ale and Compass amd actually watch football

And when at Nomad, the churros are a must! We absolutely love it here. I can see why @NomadLounger made it her user name 😊

We had some time to spare before the gang arrived so we grabbed a Tiger Eye beer (which i kept calling Tiger Tale) amd hit the jingle trek!

Quick side note about our LL's on this day. We had booked them 5 days prior. The ONLY time slots it allowed us to choose 4 pm and after. We checked everyday to modify the time but it never changed. It continued to show 4 pm and after for everything, not just the attractions we selected. It was odd and very frustrating.
But when C and I arrived that morning and entered the park, we were able to modify them and the time slots were as early as 10 am and after. Ive had several park days in the last few months where once I was actually in the park, the available times to modify were much better. Its a very aggravating feature which doesnt allow you to plan as easily.

Back to the fun! Transdimensional joy ride anyone?

We had dinner reservations for Topolino Terrace that night. The kids amd their grandpa stayed at the room and was Justin , his wife, C and I for dinner. We got a turkey sandwhich from the Boardwalk deli to tide us over

20251223_171846.jpg

I took this picture of our appetizer, fried veggies amd that was apparently the only pic I took at Topolino lol.

It was interesting experience. The atmosphere was top notch. The service, meh. It was not that busy but we waited nearly 10 minutes for water and then nearly 20 minutes more for our drinks to arrive. We debated just leaving but we stuck it out.

In a move of brilliance, I did not look at the menu before arriving. I assumed they would have several pasta options. They have a chandelier literally designed after pasta and pasta on display when you enter. But no, there was one pasta option and it had mushrooms which the waitress said you can not order it without mushrooms. I ened up getting the filet. It was very good but o had been looko g forward to pasta. Only myself to blame.

We watched the fireworks after dinner and headed back to BW. We had drinks at Bellevue Lounge (bar inside BW). Before we knew it, they were closing down but the bartenders made us one more round before they left. Miguel was our bartender amd he was absolutely excellent.

We drank.amd chatted at the lounge until nearly 2 am! Before they headed out they wanted to see our room so we headed there.

20251224_010618.jpg

Justin took a quick nap on a scooter in tje hallway

We ended up having one last drink at the room.as we relaxed on the balcony amd they chirped a Lyft around 3 am to head home. It was a very fun amd tipsy night

Such a fun last day and evening at the parks and restaurants. Sorry that the service wasn't up to par at Topolino's but it sounds like you enjoyed the ambiance and food! We definitely have to have appetizers and drinks at Nomad Lounge with all the rave reviews from this board's trip reports! As always, I enjoyed reading about your adventures together and happy that C could join you this time!

I’m glad you enjoyed Nomad Lounge! Sitting on the outside balcony with a Tempting Tigress and an order of churros is one of my happy places at WDW😀.

Oh dont worry, there are still about 6 days left of this trip! And Topolinos wasnt bad by any means. The food was good just slow service which can happen anywhere. We are definitely going back again!
