DHS Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular Boulder Incident

He means the novelization of the first film. The old EU or Legends novels despite the occasional bad idea were largely better than most of the stuff Disney has crapped out. In fact, Disney took one of the old Legends worst ideas "Resurrecting Palpatine" and ran with it in Rise of Skywalker.
My dear friend Robbie Salvatore may have cried happy tears when he realized that a particularly controversial decision he was forced to write by George Lucas in a Star Wars novel was taken by Disney and effectively reused with a major change in the last movie (which meant he didn't get blamed for it anymore, although he didn't get paid for it).

The fake out on killing Chewie may have been a worse idea than resurrecting Palpatine.

Here's the most forum-friendly video of it I could find. The others showed the aftermath and it isn't pretty.

Disney ought to be giving this guy a hefty bonus in addition to his medical expenses for preventing the guests from being injured.

Sadly I think Bob I. and Josh D. are the type of goons to throw out a small pittance of “if you accept this, you can’t sue us” money and then build really awkward/unsightly 12’ chain link fencing between the stage and the audience.

To be fair, Chewbacca’s death as well as Mara Jade dying of a biological warfare-borne terminal illness was meant to put a harder edge to the NJO novels. It was the realization that anybody could die at any point; plot armor didn’t exist going forward.

Fans were upset at first with Chewbacca’s death….however, Denning’s ‘Star By Star’ made things worse by actually negating Chewy’s sacrifice when it killed off Anakin Solo.

At that point, Lucas got cold feet and brought back the plot armor by giving Mara a miracle cure and the only deaths going forward were side characters that the readers didn’t get much of a chance to get attached to.

Wut? Liberty Square is and always has been just Liberty Square. Piston Peak isn’t a new land.
Then what is it? It doesn't fit in Frontierland, not even close. I know that you are the smartest member of these here boards, but just because you say it doesn't make it so any more than when I state what my thoughts tell me make it reality. I, at least know, that just because I want something to be a certain thing doesn't mean that it is. And try, just once to respond with less than one or two smug sentences stating things as fact, and provide some real evidence or at least logic.

What exactly are you disagreeing with here? Liberty Square has never been part of Frontierland and has always been its own land. Piston Peak is intended to be part of the new Frontierland and not its own land. Just like Storybook Circus is part of Fantasyland.

Piston Peak is being themed as Piston Peak National Park and is a part of Frontierland.

Piston Peak is a part of Frontierland. Disney has been exceptionally clear about this.

Riddle me this... If Storybook Circus is obviously directly related to Fantasyland, which it is, exactly what part of a car ride is connected directly to Frontierland? The wild west Frontier had very few car rides within its basic definition.

Look I like the idea of the Cars syndication being in Magic Kingdom, I just refuse to not recognise change in the Disney philosophy that it is connected to anything even vaguely having to do with one of the original lands. Don't try and connect it to nature because it is called a National Park. National Parks are tourist attractions and no longer frontier. It is another NEW land just like Villians Land does not have a connecting identity. Piston Peak (another obvious break from Frontier) borders on the west by Thunder Mtn. and on the east by Liberty Square. If it has any connection to either, Liberty Square would be a closer connection. And in the end does it matter at all. This is no longer your Fathers Disney or even mine. It is directed at more current generations and that should be obvious to everyone by now.

I would bet money that the name of the land will not be Frontierland when it debuts.

I also believed for a long time now that a name change is coming down the 'pike.

Liberty Square will stay Liberty Square...just curious of future of HoP....virtually every day that passes I'm more amazed it still exists.

What was the topic again?

Maybe instead of constantly being critical of topic changes one might take the posting opportunity to actually add to the original topic instead of just policing those that strayed. Give people something to talk about that makes the thread topic a point of interest. It seems to me that once no one has anything more to say that is pertinent to the topic that might just indicate that the topic is no longer of any importance.

All that I just said means that the incident at the stunt show is no longer and never was something to get excited about except to give proper thanks to the CM that did his best to protect the guests from possible serious harm. That is the only justification for the thread to begin with. I would like to know if he is OK but that doesn't seem to be available. Without that update all we have is an unfortunate accident during a show with no justification for anymore discussion without knowing the outcome for the CM. Anybody have any updates on that so we have something to discuss concerning that event?
