Trip Report I May Have Done a Thing... (now the actual report)

Screenshot_20250912_173614_Disney World.jpg

I know, I know, that's the busiest time of year to go, but hear me out! Christmas sucks for us right about now! And we decided that instead of staying home and wallowing in our sorrow, we would go somewhere and try to keep ourselves busy. Christmas 2022 obviously sucked, but we were so numb at that point that it's all a blur. Then 2023 was horrific and felt like the first Christmas without Lily. Needless to say, I didn't feel like decorating nor celebrating, so we didn't do a whole lot that year. Last year, I still couldn't bring myself to decorate, but we tried to attend a few celebrations and ease back into things. My anniversary trip with Brian last year helped get me closer to remembering that I used to love Christmas and all the decorations, but I'm still not sure I would be able to decorate the house this year either, so now I won't have to worry about it too much! The boys don't necessarily want to go anywhere, but they grudgingly agreed to go with us when I promised we would make it as laid back and stress free as possible, which I know means we will miss seeing and doing a lot of things! As you can surmise from my picture, we are staying at Caribbean Beach again. I booked two (hopefully connecting) standard view 5th sleeper rooms. I am going to request to be in Trinidad again this year.

Next stop was the Christmas Store. I ended up with 3 ornaments, a blue snowflake Mickey head with 2025 on an ear, a glass Up one, and the Tower of Terror one that I was unable to find last year when we were there in early December.

We all met back up in World of Disney.

Then we headed over to the West side.

I forgot to mention that as soon as we got on the DS bus back at CBR, we got one room ready text. We decided we were hungry and to just keep going to DS. At some point we got the second room ready text and it did appear to be connecting rooms. I was also pleased to see that we were on the first floor. I usually request second floor, but wasn't sure how I would handle the stairs at the end of the day since CBR doesn't have elevators.

We then moved the car over to Trinidad to check out the rooms. Since we had so many issues last year, we decided to go to the rooms first before unpacking the car. We were in building 36. I had requested 34 or 35, but our room ended up being in a perfect location, close to the parking lot without looking out over it, close to Spyglass Grill so we could refill our mugs at the fountain, close to the Freestyle machine in building 34 for refills, and easy access to the sidewalk over to the Skyliner. I stayed behind to get pics of the rooms while Brian and the boys unpacked the car.

Brian and I took time to unpack and put our clothes and toiletries away. The boys chose to live out of their suitcases for the week! I also put up all of the Christmas decorations. I got the tree set up but not decorated before everyone was ready for dinner. We ended up flip flopping our rooms because the boys were assigned to the corner room and I knew they wouldn't want the tree in their room.

We decided to take the Skyliner over to AoA for dinner at Landscapes of Flavor since they had a little more variety than CBR.

No pictures, but everyone was satisfied. You know I had to get some pics of the tree while we were there!

Normally, we would have headed over to Pop to check out their decorations, but I wasn't up to walking over there and wanted to save myself for the park walking! We headed back to CBR and I decorated the tree.

This picture certainly doesn't show many of the ornaments as they are all hidden in the branches! We then just relaxed and went to bed early.

I took this picture later in the trip, but Brian and the boys enjoyed the fact that my decorating made it easy to find our rooms when we came home at night!

Day 3 Monday, December 22 DHS and Epcot

This was the only day I had a firm time to leave the room and the boys knew this going in. I purchased MPLL for our evening at Epcot and was gambling that DHS would be slower since the last Jollywood Nights was this day. We left the room about 7am and headed to the Skyliner. Early entry started at 8am. The time stamp on this next picture was 7:12am.
1000031114.jpg

I was amazed at the lack of people as we exited the Skyliner.

I fully expected to be much further back in line, but we were actually fairly close to the front.

They didn't let us in quite as early as others have been reported, but still well before the 8am opening time. We quickly headed toward Sunset Blvd.

We decided to hit Rock n Rollercoaster first since I would rather stand in line at ToT if needed later rather than RnRC.
