So I had a little kitchen incident on Dec 23, when my sweetie suggested that I should get a head start on cooking the Christmas Eve feast of seven fishes by preparing some side dishes, such as the brussels sprouts, prepared the way he prefers them, shaved (thin-sliced) and sauteed in olive oil and garlic, then braised in chicken broth.

Always make use of the shield when operating a mandoline. I shaved a flap of skin on the second finger of my right hand. No blood or flesh added to the sprouts Still working on healing. Very uncomfortable to type the letter i. Mostly using just the index finger for that whole side of the keyboard.

Yikes, I’m afraid that would be me if I used the mandoline. Hope it heals up fast.

Just for fun, without debating LEDs, how do you like your Christmas tree lights?

I don't like blinking lights, and although clear (warm) white has its place, I love multi-colored lights on my tree.

Ugh. Sorry to hear that. Plus, any finger wound always gets in the way of everything you need to do. Hoping it heals quickly for you.
