The issue mentioned on Reddit (so take that into consideration) is if the pedestal doesn’t retract all the way - the Boulder can hit the pedestal and that causes it to bounce which can lead to it bouncing off track.
Exactly. Accidents happen sadly especially when something happens non stop for decades…. Now this is a perfect “excuse” for Bob to cut some more costsAn accident that has never happened since opening on May 1, 1989, until now and it's time to cancel the show. Got it.
It’s clearly a show that guests of the park want to see….It'll be back I'm sure but now might just be the time to put this show out of it's long stagnating misery.
Yes, though not me, seen it so many times we skip it now. Not even the same show it once was, several cuts have been made over the years, worsening the show each time. It’s clearly a show that guests of the park want to see….
A 400 lbs bouncing ball.well, as long as no one overreacts to a large bouncing balloon all will be fine.
And yet no concern at all about cars with 6 people going over 60 MPH with no driver, just a grove and a boot guiding it. There are dangers everywhere we stand in life. Overreacting does not solve the problem. When one factors in that show has been happening multiple times a day for years it's hardly a time to get concerned. It is to bad that happened and kudo's to the fellow that intervened but to call for the closing down of a popular show because of a freak accident is just what it sounds like... overreaction.A 400 lbs bouncing ball.
I don't want the show shut down. I am not overreacting. Yeah. This attraction probably has over 100K shows at this point. And yet no concern at all about cars with 6 people going over 60 MPH with no driver, just a grove and a boot guiding it. He jumped in front of it to protect the audience. The ball has come off the track several times in it's 36 year history, just seemingly no one has walked in to its path before.
They are now running the show without the ball, making for a very awkward and underwhelming scene. It'll be back I'm sure but now might just be the time to put this show out of it's long stagnating misery.
Yes, but there's a wall and rail there that would have stopped it, as it has done in the past.He jumped in front of it to protect the audience.
Maybe? Depends on the trajectory of the ball. Hard to tell as I am not a mathematician or a physicist, but in my eyes the chance of it bouncing over and hitting the audience wasn't zero.Yes, but there's a wall and rail there that would have stopped it, as it has done in the past.
But is that a reason the show should close?Yes, though not me, seen it so many times we skip it now.

It’s been time to cancel the show for years incident or not. Valuable footprint that could become a land with several attractionsAn accident that has never happened since opening on May 1, 1989, until now and it's time to cancel the show. Got it.

If it were to close, my money is on an empty theater and/or unused plot of land for a decade or more. What is if were a great attraction replacing it...something tied into the location of Hollywood Boulevard.... I would gladly trade in Indiana Jones Stunt Show for a completely revitalized central corrider to the park with new and refreshed attractions that thematically fit "The Hollywood that never was...and will always be". The stunt show always felt like an early filler for a new theme [park that was woefully underbuilt from the start.....
