MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

That was super easy to rename / retheme if needed.

There were 2 caves on the smaller island right? Keep the small island - make both caves meet and greets - sell cupcakes at old aunt Polly’s and boom…. Making money + a constant line for those rafts.
there are some insensitive words in Huck Finn. After the "Splash" fiasco which was largely guilt by association, I can understand why they want to distance themselves from the Tom and Huck aside from the bigger more obvious reason of paid fast pass sales, accessibility and of course popular IP.

You keep bringing this kind of stuff up even though you’re also acknowledging it’s inappropriate. Just stop mentioning it at all.

I’m glad you saw the humor!

I actually don’t agree though - country bears was just updated - splash was just updated - big thunder is almost done.
I've always referred to this period as New Froniterland, with the updates to Country Bears and BTM, TBA and the new DVC and soon Cars, Frontierland will be completely updated (apart from Pecos Bills but that could still happen). Until all of that though, Frontierland's last significant update was in 1992 when Splsh opened so 30 years before it's new update is pretty good going 😀

I just said the visual disruption of the construction walls and the numerous views over the walls would be as bad with Speedway as it is with Rivers because, similarly, it's nestled in the middle of a lot of attractions, some of which look down into it unobstructed. I didn't mean that Rivers and Speedway are equivalently beautiful.
Thanks for the clarification🏆

I wouldn’t say ours is in bad shape. Buzz and COP are getting big upgrades, Peoplemover, AO, TRON are great. Space mt would hopefully be next after BTM reopens. Speedway, MILF and empty SGE are the biggest issues and even the LF is still a decent show.
WDW's certainly not bad (and (no pun intended) lightyears better than Disneyland's (except Space Mountains)), but, as @HMF elaborates in his articles (& other echoed elsewhere), it's become so challenging for Tomorrowland, as a whole, to WOW!

1955 DL, 1971 WDW, & 1998 DL did not wow.

1967 Disneyland TL wowed (& I just learned how heavily Walt's influence was on it...although he didn't see the final result)
1975 WDW TL wowed
1994/5 WDW TL wowed

But, even in these instances, by nature of the land, the wow wore off.

That's why (at least in-part)

Paris did Discoveryland instead
Tokyo replaced most of their Tomorrowland with a Fantasyland expansion
EPCOT (OF TOMORROW for cyrin' out loud) jettisoned the concept of "Future World" altogether.

I don't mean to keep repeating myself, but I'm really "hopin' against hope" the 26 Dexpo will finally (& seriously) address the US "Tomorrowlands"

NB: I do see how all the changes in Frontierland may ultimately result in a name-replacement there. At this stage I don't care. It's pretty neutered as it is.

Or.... it could be that guy who was around until 2020 and then "surprisingly" came back in 2022 wanting to further "leave his imprint" on theme parks he never has and never will understand.

I agree though without going into too much detail I do think there is some political motivation as well.
Yes, this could be a kill two birds with one stone thing. Execute some social justice at the same time build something that SELLS LL. Don’t ask me what the social justice is as I have no idea but I am sure someone knows.

Splash was destroyed and replaced as another kill two birds thing, obviously social justice, at the same time the animatronics were getting too expensive to maintain so they “upgraded” the hardware. The hardware update does not seem to be working as well as they expected.

One of my concerns is how they are going to get the forced perspective to work.
Because they are shoehorning Piston Peak into a location rather than it being a place that was planned from the start.
I hope it works.
Good point. I also worry that imagineering comes up with this excellent design and cannot execute that design for the money allocated and there are scope cuts.

For everyone playing, it’s time to take a shot 🥃😉

I would think on this project in particular, that the stakes are higher than normal...this is the first time any of the Disney parks has lost their ROA completely.... Completely changing how this area is going to look and work... I think they would have to really knock it out of the park.... having a disappointing result like the EPCOT core disaster will hopefully not happen again.....and hopefully they will quietly fix the EPCOT mess in the next few years....

Plus I'm still getting NEW glowing reviews of EPIC...attractions/layout/feel/etc...

The stakes were high on EPCOT's future world renovation and that turned out to be a downgrade in my view and the ground lighting that is still broken is an embarrassment.

This cars land thing worries me, but I guess we will end up with the off road (slow moving) version of Test Track and since its new and we will have waited many years for it to open, it will sell LLs.

I worry about the down time the Cars attraction will experience.

Completely agree, I also give WDI a very big pass for any project made or built in part of in full under covid and Chapek. id also argue Josh washing to prove himself as CEO is actually a good thing because it means he is trying to have these projects be amazing so he is liked as CEO. even if it doest open for a while, in a weird weird way a win for Josh is a win for us for rn.

I'd also just say for Rivers, we had the worst version when compared to Paris, Anaheim, Tokyo, and HK. So if they give us a kick*ss area like Grizzly Peak at DCA with beautiful American nature I'll be happy. Esp if done correctly with beautiful water and seamless blend of nature between PP and TBA and BTM. Honestly my only concern is that the Cars ride will be really short. same issue I have w Tron and SevenD but I give them a pass bc they didn't really replace anything, this project did.
