News Bluey To Join Disney Experiences at its U.S. Theme Parks and Cruise Line Beginning in 2025

Here is a list of the closest Bluey and Bingo have gotten to interacting with actual animals:

- dreamt of being a fruit bat once
- found a dead bird and cried
- avoided a large bird on the beach
- dropped Chinese food on the ground and had crows try to eat it
- Bingo had to evade a magpie once
- Bluey's friend's dad once drove through a field of kangaroos. She wasn't there.

Just in case anyone hasn't watched it and thinks it's Australian Go Diego Go or something.
Based on this, you would think they wouldn't be the biggest fan of flying creatures, particularly birds.

Bluey isn't going to like Florida.

Anyone heard that the Affection Section space will close and be utilized for the Bluey experience? Supposedly, and sorry if this has already been discussed, but the petting zoo animals will be leaving?

Anyone going back there, expecting an Bluey meet and greet photo op, will leave disappointed.

This is what I had also read/heard and posted a couple weeks ago. Since then some have pushed back on the claims that animal services were moving out. I guess we’ll find out eventually but I’m not sure there will be much outcry since so few actually make the trek back there. Bluey will likely change that.

Honestly, I'm glad Disney stood on their business here. Giving someone who doesn't know anything about theme parks complete control all for a series that is still fizzling out AND had movies and a story that was still not finished yet was a HUGEEEEEEEE risk. It ended up paying off Universal but given where Universal was at the time of this happening, I'm glad they got it to give Disney some more competition. We could've easily stagnated a lot if Universal still couldn't get their bearings :/
It was for the best I think. I think it was smart for Universal to let JK have control and we can see how great these lands came out for Universal, really great I think.

If Disney got their hands on it, I think it would have been a watered down experience, like was done at galaxy’s edge in my opinion.

I agree honestly. Disney did not "need" Potter nearly as much as Universal did and I doubt we would have gotten what we ended up getting with Universal having the reigns. Universal needed this to be a success and by pretty much all accounts, they knocked it out of the park... while I do have some... opinions... on how they've used the property since, overall they did a very good job with it and it revitalized their push. Imo, there is no EU without Harry Potter happening the way it did.

Agreed, and EU's HP land is amazing too! I find it amazing that Universal did not water it down and once again went all out on this new HP land. Well done.

In my opinion, the good work Universal is doing, is forcing Disney to work harder and its us, the guest, who wins big!

My only problem is that I feel like its clear that they are straining at 3 HP lands, both of these last two lands have only had one ride each which kinda sucks from a guest perspective as they are technically glorified shopping/dining areas of the parks rather than being true "theme park" lands first and foremost. They are very very good shopping and dining districts but with just how the IP works, they are samey in a lot of ways merchandise wise.

I do like however that Wizarding Paris took us to a different area, it does suck however that the movie was such a flop that the only ride in that land is not based in the location the land is based on :(

Diagon Alley is still an iconic location with Knockturn Alley being a really cool addition but I found myself not loving Gringotts all that much comparatively, its fun but it REALLY relied on the screens during an era where I feel like screens were already overstaying their welcome at USF.

Overall, very impressive what they did, it's just gotten a bit obvious that the experience has been done before in my opinion.

I think its really interesting to compare and contrast EU's HP land and SW:GE (which I honestly love both of) because its interesting that one land gets a lot of leeway with similar problems.

- Can't meet the beloved characters in the land
- Based on a much less popular modern version of an orignally beloved classic
- Limited rides (2 attractions each)

I think SWGE would have gotten a lot less of the pushback if we first got an OG trilogy SW land (maybe around where Star Tours is)... but thats something for another thread I suppose. I think what we got is genuinely the best way things could have happened. The only problem of course being that since Harry Potter, both companies are putting a little too much stake into single IP lands which imo is a VERY dangerous game considering what happens when its time to eventually retheme them for one reason or another.

The second ride continued development well after the movie flopped. The Harry Potter ride was required before the film opened.

I don't think there's anything wrong with this going in AK to offer something fun for the younger crowd. It's proably being positioned to be something that can easily be re-themed if/when they create another expereince elsewhere

Disney was less amenable than Universal in terms of listening to JKR in particular... Who had requirements which made Disney very unhappy (castle, no M&Gs, design requirements, among others). This forum's censoring system will not allow me to repeat what some then-senior execs (and others) have called her in our discussions.

I agree with Steve. And execs complaining about Rowling doesn't mean much when she was pretty obviously correct.

Disney Files Construction Permit for Bluey Takeover at Animal Kingdom Conservation Station

And there it is, proof that Affection Station and other original Planet Watch offerings are likely gone. Not the end of the world but certainly another shift for the park.

It's a children's area with a petting zoo. I seriously doubt very young children are pining for the good old days. The overlay is using an IP they know to keep them interested in animals. Parents have to intentionally board a train to get to the very edge of the park near Western Way for this experience anyway. It's not going to take away anything from the rest of AK.
