And where would that new queue be?

Along the side of the building and adjacent to piston peak heading all the way to the back where villains land is. If you look at the latest aerial photo of the construction of piston peak you will notice the land next to haunted mansion is undisturbed. This land slowly angles out over time as you approach villains land. This would mean they will likely remove the current themed que as that will now be part of the pathway leading up to the entrance to the interior. They will still keep that graveyard but likely they can then stretch the que back deeper towards villains land. This way they can double, triple, or even quadruple the size of the que. The current que will now just a court yard area where they will have something for photo ops in front of the haunted mansion. The reason this is not being done already is to maximize their focus on piston peak and villains land which will likely be a long venture. We won't actually see new que construction for at least another 2 years I suspect.

I was always hopeful about the restaurant idea....especially if they went with the "Happy Haunts Ball" theme...but it would have to be huge...multiple diningrooms dressed as different locations within the mansion....and a graveyard vir=ew terrace.... it could be spectacular....a WDW "must Do"....if they did it....
I wouldn't trust them to do it without leaning into the levels of self-indulgence and fan-service they gave to the interactive queue.

As long as it gets rid of the interactive queue elements from 2011, they can do almost anything they want in my book.

Ok. I will give you some context. Que is abbreviation of Queue. Its been a common abbreviation for quite some time that people use it on occasion when doing quick writing or short text messages. For example, when describing how long a wait is at a restaurant you would say "The que is 20 minutes." This is handy when communicating using short quick text. At the time when I wrote this I was doing a quick message while having breakfast before rushing to work. I still use the abbreviation as a force of habit which is one thing we all do at some point. Don't tell me you don't have force of habits. We both know you would be lying.

One of my forced habits is spelling English words correctly... From the Merriam-Webster online dictionary:

"Is it que, queue, or q?

One of our persistent—and more puzzling—lookups is for the word que, which is entered in our dictionary (capitalized) as an abbreviation for Quebec. Qué is also a Spanish word that means “what.” That is not, however, the word that many people are looking for when they look up que in our dictionary. Que is homophonous with a number of other words, most of which have wildly different spellings and meanings. One of the words that people are looking for when they look up que is queue, a word that means “line” (as in, “We waited in the ticket queue.”) Sometimes people are looking for the homonym cue, or “a signal to start or do something” (“The lights just went out—that’s my cue to start the movie.”). Very occasionally, people look up que for coup, a word that refers to a violent and sudden overthrow or takeover of a government (“reports on the latest coup attempt”). And if you’re looking for the phonetic spelling of the letter q, try again: that’s cue."

If you were really going for short in texts, you'd just use the letter "Q"... as in "BCNUNDQ"

Actually you are misunderstanding what force of habit is. Force of habit has nothing to do with forcing yourself to spell everything correctly as technically that is something you choose to do. Force of habit comes not out of choice but rather something that is done so often that you instinctively do it without ever thinking about it. For example, when playing poker some people carefully watch other people to see how they react to certain cards. When someone receives a positive stimulus they often smile or do various other actions. The same goes for negative stimulus. These are referred to as tells as they are very telling of what kind of cards they have received. On average a normal person can have dozens of forces of habit that may not even seem noticeable to ourselves but to others we notice it. Like why do some people fold the toilet paper while others wad it. That is the essence of force of habit. Even the simplest of things can become force of habit. You may not even consciously think about it but you will do it regardless. This is something that your mind has learned to do because as a habit you did it so much that it literally becomes almost muscle memory. Now how is that different from spelling everything correctly? When we write everything we write we choose by our own choice how to spell some things but that is only to a certain extent controlled by our own natural ability to correct ourselves if we notice a spelling mistake. A force of habit on the other hand forces you to ignore that spelling error and just continue on regardless. You are choosing to correct your grammar but that is because you may not have a force of habit connected to a specific word. Then again that could be a lie on your part as many people forcibly misspell certain words all time time repeatedly. This is why spell check is often one of the most essential tools that people have at all times. The reason why I do not have one is because it causes conflicts with some of my other addons for my browser. There is a built in one but it is not always accurate either thus I tend to rely on my own intuition on what is and isn't proper spelling.

As for que, you don't know your history well do you? The use of abbreviations on the internet and in communication in general goes back centuries. Take cellular text messaging for example. We all in this modern age now enjoy the wonderful freedom of unlimited data and text but in the early days of cellular communication there was actually a limit on how much text data was allowed. In some cases just a paragraph or two could actually be a little costly. To resolve this many people resorted to communication using abbreviated text as a way to reduce the amount of text data required. The more they abbreviated the more texting allowed without breaking the bank. It goes back even further than that. Ever heard of a telegram or a telegraph? They also used abbreviations as their texting limitations were even more limited thus telegraph operators even had to create their own abbreviations for whole sentences and made an actual code system just to cover certain common phrases. Look up telegram style. You will see what I mean. Now if you are absolutely insistent that I have to use that extra ue just to satisfy your ocd you are welcome to try but I notice you are not correcting everyone else every where all the time which indicates to me you are just doing this for laughs. Hey I enjoy a good laugh too but I feel this is getting off topic so I will try to at least put something in that actually goes back on topic.

I suspect the que....queue will likely be quite a fair bit different from the design we have seen thus far. When disney created the original queue they were limited by space and thus had to go with the design they have now but disney has shown in the past that when they have had the opportunity to change a design with a better one they often choose a slightly different more eleborate design. Peter pan and winne the pooh, got significant changes to their queue so I suspect when and if they do make such a change it will be far different than the design we have thus far. Perhaps it may be more a cemetary style que with indoor mauseleums as well as interactive grave sites. Sure we will probably see some of those same props from the current design but over a more spread out area instead of just tightly clustered together. The best way to confirm if this will be happening is if there is any announcements for renovations to haunted mansion as villains land nears completion. If this happens followed by demolition in the proximity to the building then we will know there is changes incoming to queue. Just for you I tried to correct my force of habit but I will admit I left one just for old times sake.

That's a whole lotta writing to justify misspelling a word for alleged brevity.

Not exactly but I get your point. Some people look at walls of text and their adhd automatically kicks in. They can't handle it so they choose to ignore it. Notice how I just used that abbreviation. No one bats an eye for that one but if just 2 letters are missing then everyone loses their minds. Some times I write like this just to annoy those types. Nothing gets more fun than messing with the grammar police and their word crimes.

Nobody bats an eye because that's not an abbreviation, it's an initialism (though it would normally be done with capital letters). It's like saying FBI or NBC - each letter is the first initial of a word. That's not the same thing as misspelling a word as another word intended as some sort of shorthand at all.

Just sayin' 🤷‍♂️

Nope. Initialism requires multiple words. Again its abbreviation. It similar to Mr = Mister and ect. = et cetera. In some cases a period is required at the end but not always. Oh and touchdown, believe it or not but shorthand and stenoscript was probably used by your great grand parents and is still used today to some extent. I see by now I have exposed a whole high command of german grammar steppers with significant OCD. The mods are gonna be busy with this one as its gone way off topic though I doubt in the TOS we are required to maintain a college level grammar with everything perfectly written as if doing a college thesis. To the mods, Im sorry I tried to steer it back on topic but they insist on this.
