Trip Report 2 broke guys and the XMAS TTFN trip!

Yes, yes, I know we just got back. We went in the middle of December, then again for Christmas, then again in the middle of January, and now - our third month in a row…

When: Feb 2-4
Where: All-Star Music, and All-Star Music (you’ll see.)
Who:

Tony

And Brian

Wait, wait - that’s not right. Pretty close, but not right. Let’s try again.

OK but those were reject “blooper” pics from our last TR. Here’s one where we’re overdressed:

That’ll do.

And…Mickey.

Please take care of yourself and not push it too much. I hate being dizzy. I had that a few weeks ago and ended up at ER. Low potassium. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I hope you haven’t picked up something else. Hugs!

Low potassium would make sense under the circumstances, though I think it would’ve been helped by the drip on Wednesday afternoon. I hope you are feeling better!

My concern is something may have gone into the lungs on Tuesday night. I may have to check with our primary doc tomorrow. My breathing is not right. Don’t think I picked up anything contagious. It would be quite a coincidence, though definitely not impossible being in a crowded area.

Thanks! Feeling lots better compared to that day. But trying to eat more potassium.

Yes you should check with your dr. I don’t like the breathing being off. If you really have more trouble, get to an ER. I have asthma so trouble breathing is not good.

At that point, I had to face the reality that the much anticipated dinner at Topolino‘s, even with the fireworks on the roof and everything, also didn’t make much sense. I had squandered a very expensive dinner the night before, and didn’t want to repeat the same mistake. Regrettably, I canceled that dining reservation. At the same time, I felt relieved.

We were back at the room by about 5:30 PM, and I napped.

When I woke up, we reheated the steak main dish from the previous night, along with the potatoes, and made a heavy snack out of that. The flan was not really my speed, we both tasted it and pitched it.

Brian suggested a movie.

Not that movie. All showings were almost completely booked solid. He mentioned “Song Sung Blue,” a film starring Wolverine and Kate Hudson as a Neil Diamond tribute band. Why not? We hit the 10pm showing. Popcorn was much easier on the stomach, anyway.

The movie was OK. I had seen reviews leading me to believe it would be better. I could not get past the wolverine reference. And I kept thinking how old everyone looked. I remember years ago hearing Goldie Hawn had a daughter, and now she’s already wrinkled. Time flies.

Many of the Neil Diamond songs they chose to emphasize in this film were not my favorites. And I am quite a fan. I guess it’s because The Jazz Singer already included most of his greatest hits, so they probably didn’t want to repeat?

Of course, Brian‘s first words as we exited the theater were: “I thought it was going to be Neil Diamond’s life story.” 🤦🏻‍♂️ I could have seen Anaconda! Even if it stunk, at least Paul Rudd is cute! 😆

Still, it was a good ending to the night. While this may be a letdown of a trip report, I did not feel let down. If I’m going to be sick for Christmas, where better to be than at a Disney World resort?

And we weren’t quite finished yet.

(but almost, so temper your expectations. 🤣😉)
Ohh I was hoping it would be better. I love Neil Diamond. That’s a shame.

I decided to pull down the pulldown bed.

Horsey.

After mostly decent sleep, punctuated by bits of the same AMC movies again, I woke up around 8:35 AM and we had an ADR at 9:50 AM. We had to be packed up and checked out. A text message from the restaurant seemed to indicate we should arrive by 9:30 AM. I called them. They said don’t worry about that.

I woke Brian up, we quickly dismantled the tree, threw everything into bags, showered, and since we were still running a little bit behind, I decided to call an Uber to take us to the springs. A boat could take a while. A bus could take a while. We had heard a family the night before leaving our resort, with an eight year old asking where they were going? The mom said they were walking to Disney Springs again. The kid said. “Not agaaaaAAAaaain?!” That told us the walk was possible, but might not be too short. We never figured out where it was, and didn’t want to bother @Tuvalu. 😆

It was cooler this morning, but still sunny enough to keep it nice and warm.

Same. My breathing right now feels like when I’m just getting over a bad cold. Except I’m not. I’m not congested. There’s no mucus. I don’t feel sick. But that’s how I’m breathing. Inhaler helps a little. Steroids usually knock that out. I guess my concern is for infection/pneumonia if something got in there.

That's my concern too with no congestion. Take care.

At far too late an hour, Brian‘s boss requested a Christmas popcorn bucket. Brian presented this to me as if I had never heard of a Disney popcorn bucket. 🙄 is this a thing? 🙄 are they difficult to find? 🙄

A quick Google search led me to believe there was a possibility we could get one at Disney Springs, but they may have sold out. Based on Internet advice, we tried Jock Lindsay‘s, which then let us to the two popcorn carts. There, we were told Disney Springs had sold out.

Back to the resort.

Checked out the very tiny shop, didn’t like the resort Christmas ornament, took a few minutes on the massage chair at the arcade, and hit the road.

Just enjoyed my pot roast. Have a lot of work to do.

Ended up with a bunch of points left over. Enough points for… An annual pass. But I’m still not getting one anytime soon.

I think this year is going to see more of the Florida keys, Vegas, and the local pet shelter. We have those new timeshares to use. Oh, and the wedding in Italy in August.

This is the part where I say maybe we’ll just do a Christmas party. Then when it comes time to book the Christmas party, I realize it costs almost as much as an annual pass, and I end up getting an annual pass. We still manage to end up going every December!

Thanks for reading. Sorry if this was a slight bummer, but I still appreciated my time there. We can always take a Brightline up to go to Disney Springs if we are jonesing. 👍🏻👍🏻 bounce back offer is in my bag lol.

The walk from Congress Park in Saratoga to Disney Springs is easy peasy. We've done it a million times! The walk from The Artist's Palette to Disney Springs in Saratoga is still a bit confusing to us as it takes you along the golf course and isn't very well defined, but it still isn't terrible. We love getting boats from OKWest to the Springs, but I'm pretty sure you can walk to DS in the same amount of time it takes to hop a boat there from SSR.

Sorry to hear that you weren't feeling great. I was sick for a little over a month after we returned home from Disneyland in late August. So many peeple, so many germs, I fear.

Happy New Year!
