News Coco Boat Ride Coming to Disney California Adventure

It’s starting.

Incredible news! I’m very eager to see how this mini land takes shape in the shadow of the roller coaster

Hopefully the additional space from re-jiggering the backstage roads will allow them to be ambitious.

Does anyone know if there’s been any rumors for how much Disney will be spending on Coco?

Some of this will also be to setup for the future walkway to the expansion (Disneyland Forward).

There’s no chance this attraction stays as a DCA exclusive right? I’m not sure how beloved Coco is internationally but feels like Epcot will get it one day. DCA has a decent number of world exclusive E tickets. Granted Mission BO is a rethemed TOT and Indecorated Coaster is just that but still.

was wondering this too. Feel it has to go to EPCOT, DLP, or even maybe Abu Dhabi

So is the rumor still that they re only removing one building of the three behind Incredicoaster? The one closest to DL Drive.
They were removing stuff from both the one closest to Katella and the one closest to DL Dr, so my guess is they are removing all 3. Whether they rebuild them or not is another question.

Yeah I’m not sure what’s happening. The one building is ODV, which is very important… so unless they have already built that elsewhere, I can’t imagine that is being removed anytime soon.

OVD can be moved to or merged with other facilities if needed, not hard to put fridges/freezer units and other storage in a building. So while important it doesn’t need to be specifically there. But we’ll see what they do, there was just stuff being moved out in bulk in the last week, FB highlighted it in their recent construction video.

I don't know anything, but just based on google earth, you can carve out a huge chunk without disturbing any buildings.

This space is bigger than Frozen Ever After, Navi River Journey, Sinbad, and Rapunzel.

It is totally going to replace the Grand Fiesta Tour at the Mexico pavilion at Epcot. Better go see it before it's rethemed to Coco.

Id argue they could add it to Mexico pavilion and they will, esp when you consider they could always expand the ride footprint to the side of the pavilion between Norway with a lot of space in the back

The thing is, there really isn't a ton of space there unless they want to completely redo the entire pavilion, which I doubt.

And the queue space is completely insufficient for any kind of draw.
True, they would have to extend the building. I hope they keep the Pirates-like restaurant.

I feel they will absolutely make the current ride COCO, only question is do they replicate the DCA ride, or just do a smaller coco ride with the only shared quality being RND and the aa's. but feel coco will be like buzz or Peter Pan where it is in a lot of the resorts but the length and theming varies

Given that Encanto is going into AK there is an argument to be made that WDW doesn't need Coco. Plus Gran Fiesta is the only representation of the Three Caballeros in any Disney Park, it would be a shame to lose that.

There are reasons to keep some properties exclusives to each Park, and Encanto and Coco could be such properties with one on each coast.
