Missed opportunity? Why Disney hasn’t rethemed Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster to Taylor Swift

Are there any references to Aerosmith on the ride itself? You could just switch out the audio on the trains and the videos on the pre/post show and you have a new artist racing from the recording studio to the concert

The idea that going with another real artist would require eventual retheming really does miss that it’s already set up as a generic recording studio and it’s been a quarter of a century since the ride opened.

Very little the ride's infrastructure or decor is specific to Aerosmith

The conceit of the ride is you're going from the fictious recording studio to the concert in a stretch limo. The ride uses some painted flats to suggest you're in LA, and not much else.

Of course you run the risk of a group or singer being past their prime decades later, but this should have been one of the easiest attractions to rebrand every 5-10 years for the reasons listed above.

Money and apathy are the only reasons it stayed Aerosmith for over 25 years. Disney should never have set an expectation that changes to this ride would take that long to happen, or last just as long in the future.

Who could have possibly predicted all this in 1999?😂

Terrible idea.

I’m glad it’s going Muppets. That means they’re staying in the park instead of completely disappearing.
It also means Disney doesn't have to worry about irrelevancy as much....as long as they continue to periodically drop something Muppets-related in media now-and-then as they have been doing since the 2004 acquisition.
