MK New Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Updates Coming to Walt Disney World

Are we expecting the original 1998 George Wilkins soundtrack to remain intact, or are they completely redoing the entire soundtrack?
I would expect them to keep the original as much as possible. I know because of these changes that this attraction is going to be around a few more years despite its redundancy with the existence of Midway Mania but I am looking forward to the day when a new WDI management team that isn't afraid of original futuristic ideas is let loose on Tomorrowland as unlikely as that may be.

It’s not up to the WDI management team. WDI isn’t afraid of original ideas. But they are not the ones that decide what gets designed and built.

Hopin' the Dreamflight chickens will still be there!

honestly gave me hope for the chickens lol
One of these days I should post a full analysis on everything in Space Ranger Spin that came from Delta Dreamflight - a ton of this room especially is reused.

Examples: the dinosaur-looking creature to the left of the volcano that raises its arm is a reuse of the farmer pointing up at the barn from the first Dreamflight scene.

Similarly, the elephant in Space Ranger Spin that turns its head and raises its brain is a reuse of the cow next to that farmer. The cow turned its head and a question mark raised up. The chickens are definitely the most blatant reuse, but there’s way more than that!

I apologize if this has already been asked, but do we know if we are going to keep the side characters from that early 2000s TV show? I wonder if those characters are still canon? Also, I am SHOCKED that Disney World is planning to reopen this in 2026.

Was it ever canon? I never saw a frame of the show....couldn't tell you who's what...but only remember seeing the characters in gift-shop expansion annex they build.

If you’re asking if the show was ever canon to the Toy Story franchise- no, it wasn’t. You can think of it as an in-universe tv show but it’s not the same Buzz, the one in the show isn’t even a toy.

As for the characters left in the ride, I’m pretty sure they removed all references to the show years back, with the exception of the green aliens and Zurg.

I hate to say it but it was actually better than Pixar's own idea of an in-universe tie-in.
