As with Pirates the problem inherent with an attraction dealing with death is the only way to avoid the topic of death or violence would be to close the entire ride since it is intrinsically part of the theme of the attraction.
exactly. Others have expressed their squeamishness to me over the years, and I'm like "please....it was never intended to be taken seriously. Just relax & enjoy it for the masterpiece that it is on every level."

Just like we weren't supposed to worry about Statler and Waldorf being bolted onto the floor ;)

For example, 1991 was Bean's "peak" popularity [and don't get me started on Waldo]. If you don't count a Bean-like character in one of the very last episodes, he wasn't even in The Muppet Show. Aside from cameos, has Bean done anything the last 30+ years?
It's funny to think that..But, yeah after his small cameo from Christmas Carol he pretty much was retired at Muppetfest...

Hence The "Walter" character was introduced and it his last appearance was him riding with Gonzo in JIYI w/Figment a few years ago and then Walter kind of disappeared...

Also, I have a theory about POTC that if certain things had transpired differently. Many of the changes made would not have been necessary if two things had happened A, The POTC film Franchise either did not exist or flopped and B, They never put Jack into the attractions.
The POTC films promote the idea that the pirates are essentially anti-heroes standing up to the "evil" colonialism of the British Empire. Of course, the initial idea of the attraction was you are not supposed to sympathize with the pirates and they are the "Evil" characters as was implied in the grotto and the finale and even more so after the addition of the figures from WOM. Of course, the existence of the movies and the inserting of Jack into the ride made the morality of the ride more ambiguous and the last scene where they literally replaced the old WOM figures with Jack lounging in a treasure room raising a toast to piracy "And it's many shiny rewards" set up the argument that the pirates are not necessarily bad and it is viewed through this context that of course the Auction scene looks like its in bad taste because we are not looking at it through the original context that the pirates are supposed to be the bad guys anymore.

That was partially my fault. I did just say Mansion and then realize that was too broad so I changed it to "Elements Of" but think about it. They have already taken Constance's axe in California and the hanging Ghost Host they have apparently been looking at for years.
The body is still there as of August 2025. HMH still has him in the background currently as well.

I agree with this, id also add villains and tropical Americas, and new test track are all positive. and even with cars id say its a more wait and see, personally if it ends up like grizzly peak at DCA id be happy. And even with future world id still take the current state over the 90's era we had. but yeah, bring back my fountain, the whole world discovery, nature, and celebration area should be like the middle of EPIC universe in my opinion
I would take the 90s era because of the perks and prices we had ;)

Is there an incentive program that I’m missing out on? Does everyone get 10 cents when they use the word “underutilized” in 2025!?
And here is my question. Does an area become underutilized as a result of intentional neglect?

It sometimes feels like Disney will let areas go and neglect them then later destroy them with the excuse they are underutilized.

To offer recent proof of the inverse...Country Bears just got alot of TLC (not debating if it's an improvement or not), and the attendance has shot up....AND on recent media they've been promoting it as one of their top 5 at Magic Kingdom believe it or not).

*it was their Disney brochure from their kiosk at the Turnpike rest stop this month...will try to scan the page asap

I think your questions is deep, but no I don't believe Disney intentionally neglects as it would counter revenue, traffic, demand, etc. I don't have them down for 'sabatoge' as a tactic but maybe that's just me.
