Lightning Lane Premier Pass

Of course, the parks aren't at their peak attendance. People who pretend that are just as wrong as those who say they are attendance. They have not recovered to post COVID levels yet and that, to me, is a good thing because they were SUPER crowded then. But also a sign that there are people who are priced out or looking for alternatives. Fundamentally, that is a true statement. The problem is that people are acting as if the parks are sooooo expensive that no one is going there anymore, which is an obviously ridiculous statement.
The parks used to stay open much later, sometimes even to 3am back then though. Plus there were extra Magic Hours almost every day cycling through all 4 parks.

Now parks close early and they only have one or two extra magic hours per week.

So people feel they are more busy now because there are fewer hours open to do everything.

If I'm reading thrill data right...

Enough people bought LLPP for AK on December 29th to sell out at $199 a person.

If I was going and booked right now... I could buy LLSP for FOP for $19 (9:18am is the earliest return time)
LLMP for $29... and book Navi (10:42 earliest), Kali (10:33 earliest), and Safari (9:37am earliest)...

Crazy what people pay for flexibility.

So for $140 bucks extra, you don't have to worry about waking up early today to book your times today and hoping that the times match up to what you want. You don't have to worry about pre-planning your trip (during a time of year when you are trying to deal with both Christmas, and getting ready to travel to WDW during the holidays.) You don't have to worry about selecting early LLMP so that you can rebook new ones as soon as possible, you don't have to worry about getting to the park at rope drop, or have stressed about how crowed the park is going to be during one of the busiest times of the year at WDW. I can't speak for everyone's budget but for my time and sanity, the extra $140 doesn't seem crazy at all.

The other parks at least offer more than just flexibility... it gives the ability to enter the LL without constant refreshes.

Using just LLMP, I would challenge people to try to get the following during the holliday season

  • Pan, Jingle cruise, HM, Pooh, and Space
  • TT, Remy, and Frozen
  • Slinky, TSMM, TOT, Mermaid, RNRC, and MMRR
Animal Kingdom... Getting on every LLMP attraction wouldn't take too much effort

I pay that much at most other parks for their skip the line pass. I will definitely pay that much for flexibility cause I hate having a schedule on vacation.

I guess I'm in the minority that doesn't want to pay to ride Pirates for the 53rd time or Space Mt for the 472nd time just because "the line is long". I was long past that point 20 years ago. But if paying for LLPP makes you feel better to "not have a schedule", Bob and Josh thank you for your continued support. Remember to keep paying or you'll have to deal with that fear where you may miss out on a ride (you've already been on dozens of times).

You can say the same thing for every other park out there. We visit 5-6 other parks each year and pay for their skip the line pass. Regardless if we have been on the ride before or not, it's well worth it for short waits and being able to enjoy other parts of the parks.

See…I think it’s like 10% flex…15% rampant OCD Tendencies…and 90% vanity run amok

…but in still having those numbers checked 🤓

Only on this board would people be arguing over whether Disney parks are crowded.
This reminds me of a conversation I had just the other week, we were sat with 2 other couples for dinner on our cruise and one of the husbands asked me if Vegas was as dead as the news is reporting and if we are worried about it, my answer was simple… it’s definitely slower than we’d like but we’re still on track for almost 40 million visitors this year, that’s about 10% less than last year but it’s not the ghost town you’d expect based on the doom and gloom reports.

I think Disney is in the same position, down 10% is a serious decline but with 90% still going it’s not as noticeable as people think it would be.

I’d be willing to bet the tipped employees and the accountants can tell though.

I agree but I also think where the disconnect comes from. From a guest perspective, a 10% decline is still crowded but from a business side a 10% decline is very much doom and gloom.

It's why Disney and Vegas has raised prices so much. To make up for that loss in visitors.

Lower crowds are ALWAYS better

The problem is it really cuts into their margins and then they try to Beat it out of us to make it up.

Back in the day…under evil Michael…3% drop was an emergency

5% was defcon 2

Repeat customers have been the backbone of Disney visitors for years…they’ve largely transitioned from “one and dones” many decades ago. That was the whole point of the Eisner Florida strategy…to not have to work so hard and get people who were easy sells there…guaranteed revenue.
You think 20 years ago that most people at WDW went multiple times per year?
per year? Not as many…annual or biannual…a lot.

What do you think the point of vacation club is?

But they’ve sheared off a lot that went regularly…or more frequently…with their pricing polices. Whales have shorter attention spans than average humans. And that’s why the worm has really turned

Leaving all the snark and assumptions aside how does this post make any sense even from your point of view?

Its worth the cost to travel to Florida, buy hotel rooms, tickets to the parks, food their ect, to ride Pirates for the 53rd time or Space Mt. for the 472 time(how can you still walk after that?) but its not worth the extra $140 bucks to not wait in line and have the flexibility to not have to plan you day out?
