DHS Disney Confirms Muppets Take Over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios

The only really bad thing about this retheme is that it's, as far as we know, gonna be the only Muppets attraction in the resort... and it's not an attraction that, regardless as to how well the retheme is done, will play to the franchise's strengths.

Like, if we knew for sure that they were gonna put MuppetVision in the theater nearby (which I doubt) and this were juts a companion to it, that'd be good (and it'd also feel less like Disney just trying to pacify those of us who are annoyed that they removed MuppetVision).

From what I've been told the Villians show isn't that popular to begin with...I see it declining further when an all-immersive land opens...still hoping MV3D returns via this showbuilding.

Someone recently mentioned that MV3D was one of only 2 things they ever found funny from Muppets. That adds weight to the argument that MV3D has indeed that timeless element although filmed over 35 years ago.

The original show took place in a theater where they performed lots of musical numbers, the original movies were all musicals, and significant supporting characters in both series and movies were part of a rock band. A ride about getting said band to a theater doesn't seem incongruous at all...

I've seen people comment that the Muppets are for kids and thus don't fit a thrill ride, completely ignoring (or ignorant of) the original series always being aimed at adults.

The Muppets are also known for sparkling meta-commentary, making funny asides remarking on the very series and movies they were a part of (which extended to theme parks with MuppetVision).

This is just a way to say I completely disagree with your take; I think this is a brilliant way to retheme Rock-n-Roller Coaster, and plays well to the franchise's strengths.
