MK Piston Peak and Villains Land Construction Thread

Fantasy Springs took 5 years to build....So if all these projects are going to be completed in 4 years, they are going to have to be pretty simple I would think... not the level of Fantasy Springs....and I think that level of detail is what we are all hoping for.
Fantasy Springs is in a different country, on a site with different geological conditions and, despite the persistent denial that it could be a thing that impacted projects at the time, was delayed due to COVID restrictions and interruptions.

after going to fantasy springs they could take 15 years on this project if its at the level of fantasy springs then its worth it. personally expecting cars to be a lot like grizzly peak (my fav area of dca) and villains to be like fantasy springs and im all for it

It is funny how 2 different projects are doing the exact opposite- in Paris they are adding a huge water feature to establish space and theming and in Florida they are taking it away and filling it in with more rides.

Of course…. The team in Paris understands that even in Paris using electric night parade and illuminations music is a good idea for night time spectaculars. Haha

Let me compare two drastically different situations with Disney's worst rated theme park and its most popular theme park!

Ok… how about we compare the exact same situation with Disneys most visited castle park with Disneys most beautiful castle park?

One is filling in the rivers - the other is enhancing them with new scenes.

Because that’s just what MK needs more of…rock work.

I actually do think MK needs more rockwork.

Geology—rather than architecture alone—emphasizes that “you are in a different place now.” Especially for today’s distracted audiences, it’s one of the most important design elements for conveying this.

Disney’s most visited park should absolutely have a geology-forward environment in the tradition of Mysterious Island, Cars Land, Pandora, etc. I hope the Villains land accomplishes this. And for the same reasons, despite it not being as grand as those others, I think geology (rockwork, water features, forests) will be central to the compelling-ness and success of Piston Peak.

There is a drastic difference between below the expected guest numbers and the worst rated. I only had time for about a quarter of the park when I was there in 2015 and what I saw was really top quality. Far better than what the most popular theme park has, even now. There are many reasons why Paris was having problems and none of them included poor quality or theming.
