News Rise of the Resistance closing for refurbishment on January 20, 2026

According to the Disneyland Resort refurbishment calendar, Rise of the Resistance will be closed for refurbishment starting January 20, 2026. A reopening timeline has not yet been announced.

Wouldn't it be funny if they were adding an animatronic Mando and Grogu? Because that's definitely the change everyone was wishing they would make to this attraction!

Maybe they’ll close it down at WDW and actually fix the cannons that haven’t worked in years…

I never thought I would see the day. It makes bank off of LLSP so it must be in need of a refurb if they are actively closing it. Planning on one of the slower times of the year to offset the loss in revenue.

Didn't DL's go down for refurbishment last January?

The cannons at DL stopped working for about 1-2 months but were recently fixed again a couple weeks ago. Perhaps they have another patch to apply to it that will require downtime.

It's obviously not bug free yet.

RSR has gone under refurb multiple times after becoming an LLSP so it's not a new thing.
