Trip Report Loco’s sweaty summer adventures(of the seas).

Greetings my friends. Have you missed me for the last year? Wondering where I’ve been? Seen a random sighting of me in a @Tuvalu TR and wondered why I wasn’t doing an awesome TR myself? Have no fear! I am here to report on not one, but two summmer trips!

Trip one June 9-13(plus a cruise June 13-21).

Due to the excessive length of this vacation and the large amount of luggage needed, we decided we’d just make the road trip down to Orlando. We departed at approximately 3 AM on June 8, with plans to just stop wherever I got tired of driving. The wherever ended up being the Fairfield Inn by Marriott at Flamingo Crossings just outside the Western Way entrance to WDW at around 7:45 pm local time. Total travel time was 15 hours and 45 minutes. Total distance was 961 miles. Needless to say the sleep came quickly and easily for me that evening!

The hotel was quiet, clean, and convenient for anyone looking to stay near WDW without breaking the bank. I had enough CC points to cover the room for the night, but rates were as low as $100 the night we stayed. A tremendous value for that room!

June 9, 2025.

After a solid nights sleep we were up early enough to enjoy the complimentary breakfast at our hotel before making our way to WDW proper. We passed under the Western Way entrance around 7:30 AM

We were early enough to enjoy early entry this day and joined the masses on the way over to Gaurdiams. We were on the ride and off right at 9 AM. Our song was “I Ran”. The Tears for Fears song still eluded us on this day.

Our next stop was the Land pavilion. After a quick ride on Soarin we made our way through the greenhouse.

Back out into the heat to make our way toward Imagination. There were remnants of F&G still visible.

The queue for for imagination was surprisingly long, but we didn’t mind waiting in the AC for a bit.

Figzilla had just began greeting guests as we exited the ride. We stopped for a quick pic. Apparently I’d already been sweating profusely(a common theme in this TR) 🤣

What better way to cool down than to grab a drink and cool off in the DVC lounge? We were among the first guests of the day.

We were not rewarded with a short wait for ROTR. In fact, the ride went down again just as we joined the queue. It would struggle to stay open for the entire event, and we would not get a ride this time. No worries though, we had gotten our fair share the previous month!

Most of the evening was spent meeting rare characters and sweating all the way through my shirt.

Please don’t touch me Bert. It’s bad for your outfit.

Just imagine what the back of that shirt looks like! 😂

Jiminy Cricket was impressed I was still standing.

We did manage two rides in MMRR. The a/c was sweet!

The end of the night was spent on sunset boulevard.

I don’t know how many times we did Tower of Terror, but I know it was a lot!

Thank goodness there was a boat waiting at the dock as we left DHS. Being the last boat of the night, we were able to skip the swan/dolphin stop to save some time. The boardwalk was eerily quiet this late at night. Notice my camera was still fogged. The humidity was suffocating this night. A far cry from the crisp fall weather we’re experiencing as I type this post!

Despite the late night, we were both awake by 9 AM. We decided to spend the morning relaxing at the pool. We got in a few hours of peace before the standard family of 10 from New Jersey showed up and ruined the peacefulness of the quiet pool.

We got dressed and joined the waitlist for Beaches & Cream before walking over to Beach Club. We were seated at the counter. We each had tater tots with cheese and bacon for our “meal”.

We all know the real reason for our visit.

Even though we sat at the bar, I was pleasantly surprised by our experience. Our server Barbie had previously waited on us at Cape May Cafe multiple times throughout the years and still remembered us. I know im pretty hard to forget, but its amazing how many faces the cast members can remember from year to year. 😂

After lunch we decided to grab a bus over to MK. First stop was the people mover.

We were stopped in the tunnel exiting space mountain for a few minutes. We would not get the evac experience though.

It was another scorching afternoon, so finding AC was my top priority. A visit with John and the family on CoP was followed up by one of my favorite new attractions.

We had a similar experience when flying United about 5 years ago and we actually had to fly to Tampa to refuel and then wait for another takeoff to Orlando. What is normally a 2- and 1/2-hour flight for us turned into 7 hours which was a nightmare! The heat seemed pretty bad on this trip but you two seem to power through it well! The Beaches and Cream sundae picture has me wanting to eat there on my next trip in January!
