Is It Bad That I’m The Only Person That Loves Fantasyland Theatre?

Shows and parades where a big deal back in the 70s & 80s. Disneyland would advertise them and people would show up just for the shows and parades marketing the latest movie. They were must see things because they didn't last for years. They were summer events. Seasonal events where swapped in/out too. They drove attendance. Now Disneyland doesn't need that since people keep giving them money no matter what they cut.

You know, since I’ve heard WDW is bringing back The Magic of Disney Animation at DHS, and since it’s inspired the greatest anImated short film Once Upon A Studio, I wonder if Disneyland will make stage show inspired Once Upon A Studio at Fantasyland Theatre. Kind of similar to Animazement or Mickey and the Magical Map! I can dream, can’t I?😏

Since that theater is used for special and private events I think it's safe. They should fix Tomorrowland before they consider it.

Now that Bluey is going to be at Fantasyland Theatre, I’m giving up hope for Fantasyland Theatre and Hyperion Theatre! I guess we’ll never see a show that’s similar to Mickey and the Magical Map! Disneyland is hopeless!

Im confused what we’re lamenting when the theatre is being used for it’s intended purpose

I mean, Mickey and the Magical Map was one of the coffin nails in that space. The shows of the 90's were great. Then they got to be Disney Jr-style shows with a few mascot characters dancing around enthusiastic college kids without much of a story other than bridging a 3-5 random songs from Disney's collection.

The only good show I've seen come out of Disneyland in the past decade or so were shows in the Theatre at the Princess Fantasy Fun Faire. Shows like Mickey's Magical Projection Wall featuring songs from old movies is the reason people stopped attending.

I do care. I enjoyed the stage shows. Dick Tracy, Pocohontas, Aladdin, and the Storyteller Theatre at PFF all are great shows created at Disneyland. The original Finding Nemo musical at DAK was pretty good.

I'd love to see a Marvel stunt show that utilizes stuntronics in a show. Many of us miss stage shows. I just don't point to Mickey's Magical Map as a high bar but rather the sign of Disney discounting theme park entertainment and trying to make them more parade-like in nature.
