BRAINSTORMING MUSIC

The leaves are now near’ fully fallen…

Scents of cinnamon & maple fill the air…

and chestnuts may soon roast on an open fire, but first…

tis’ the Thanksgiving Season!
(turkey time)

a game of improv.

Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful - for family, friends, and all that brings us cause for thanks. In this small subset of Thanksgiving 2025, we’ll celebrate what makes us and the community thankful with a small, low-commitment and no stakes brainstorming game - improv!

It’s open brainstorming with a twist.

Write as much or as little as you want, but unlike most open brainstorms or team games, there's no plan. Just continue remeber the golden rule of improv - "yes, and... !" and build off the whims of another! Work together to make something special.

Also, as this will be a busy weekend for most, you’re encouraged to write little, a few sentences or paragraphs exploring a bit… and then send it. You don’t have to always finish your thoughts or ideas!

Improv style, let someone else take it up and make it their own, allowing the project to continuously take bold new directions as everyone contributes.

Rules (or lack thereof?)
The only rule is, regardless of how you feel about the above post, you must (conceptually, you dont actually have to say it) say “yes, and…”

Who knows how this experiment shall go, but my hope is for a patchwork of interspersed inspirations and interpretations of a project, where the whole community comes together to pitch in, “potluck dinner style”!

DAILY QUESTION

As the hordes of Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa stand at the gates, I will defend Thanksgiving this week from the Winter Holidays by spreading Thanksgiving-y spirit. After which, I will immediately start celebrating Christmas...

What's your favorite Thanksgiving dish?

CHANGE OF SCHEDULE!
Now Starting Friday

Hi everyone, hope all’s well! I’m so excited to kick-off the improv event this week, however, I’m also mindful that this is one of the busiest weeks of the year. Gauging forum traffic this week, I’ve decided to push back the start date to Friday, 11/28. This means the first round on Thanksgiving Day has been cut, but no worries, I’ll fold some of my ideas for it into the main round!

If anyone has any additional suggestions / schedule requests, please let me know and I’d be happy to work with them!

Another Thanksgiving Icebreaker
Is anyone traveling this week? Staying nearby? Hosting, vacationing… or camping outside the Target for Black Friday Savings?

-

I’ll be at the parade tomorrow, though unfortunately, my finals on Monday have kept me from visiting home. I have a Friendsgiving in lieu of that tonight.

I'll be traveling all the way from my apartment to my job and then commute back this evening. But I plan for the trip home to full of wacky misadventures reminiscent of Planes, Trains, and Automobiles so as to fit the spirit of the season :p

BREAKING NEWS!

Welcome back to the News™ , we interrupt today’s special turkey stream with a surprise development in Anaheim, California.

1764308281734.png

The classic AUTOPIA at Disneyland Park has suddenly and inexplicably vanished, disappearing into a cloud of smokey particles midway through ride operations this Thanksgiving, 11/27. The shocking, world-shattering slippage of reality did not harm anyone, with all guests riding the attraction instantly falling into an empty dirt plain. One guest, Kathy, 37, had to get a band-aid. The Walt Disney Company declined to comment.

LEFT: BEFORE RIGHT: AFTER

We at the News™ got guest live reactions to the divine act.

My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined;” said @Half/CartoonHalf/Human , "That Cars ride’s my favorite!

Now we have nothing to be thankful for,” agreed @Lizzy May Bee .

Some Thanksgiving indeed.

[EDIT: we later learned both the above guests falsely believed “Autopia, the cars ride” referred to “Radiator Springs Racers” in Disneyland California Adventure.]

Others were less enthused. “What’s that one again?” asked @Pi on my Cake , who we caught just exiting Rise of the Resistance, which had broken down for the twelfth time that day (an impressive record low!)

Meh”, said @ThemeParkPriest , “I think the news should focus on more important things.”

That seems to be the general public opinion, as the act has been brushed aside by practically everyone who would rather focus on immediate issues. Even our local end-of-times feller' was uninterested; “mm… I don’t know man, this one feels like a stretch.”

or... not

@Outbound with the story. We take it back to the anchors.

And onto more important topics, this Thanksgiving sold the most Cranberry Sauce in recorded human history, beating out Gravy for fourth-place in Thanksgiving food sales. Potatoes and Stuffing continue their race for second –

IMAGINEERING IMPROV

On Thanksgiving Day, 2025, Disney’s Autopia [and Finding Nemo Submarines, Monorail, & Railroad Segment] suddenly vanished. After much confusion and deliberation, we move forward in developing new dreams and magical opportunities™ at Disneyland Park. Which means we'll never talk about this again.

Wandering into a new and uncharted territory, guests take their first steps east of the Matterhorn. It's a forested glen, shady with but sunlight beaming in through the leaves. Leaves and twigs are nestled along the forest floor. Journeying a little further, guests spot a cabin in the woods.

Yes, and... as guests walk towards the cabin they can hear the sounds of splashing water and laughter. They smell something sweet waft through the air

Yes, and... When guests enter the cabin, they'll be surprised with the reveal that it's populated by tiny gnomes, who are playing around in the sink and baking chocolate chip cookies
Yes, and... the gnomes ask guests to help them because they're almost out of chocolate. So, guests have to travel below the cavern into the candy mines where a rumbling noise can be heard

Yes, and… that rumbling noise is revealed to be a loading station for a coaster through a candy mine
Yes and, guests board the coaster and prepare for a wacky chocolate hunting adventure. A low roar is heard overhead as the gnomes warn us about the rock candy monsters below.

The coaster, lightly sloped downwards, lets loose its safety breaks and guests gently drop into the candy mines. 🍭
