Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Am I reading it right that you have to have a certain profession to sign up? CostCo in London is just wild to me. If you don't have a car, how do you get everything home
You can sign up with certain professions (education, public service etc - you have to supply evidence and letter) not sure of all of them but we signed up when my other half worked for GWR trains. My son works for Bristol University and he joined up a couple of years ago.

Definitely need a car or transport to get things home!

Count yourself fortunate (it seems that you are). My husband had a small cancerous tumour removed from.his lung 18 months ago, after getting NY State's free lung cancer screening for smokers. It was an ordeal. He recently had his follow-up scan, where his surgeon noticed "something that wasn't there before", very tiny, he claims to be not overly concerned, but wants another scan in 3 months, and if the something has grown, he may be looking at surgery again.

Moral.of the story: monitoring is good, accept and appreciate it...as the saying goes, old age isn't for the weak.

My sweetie is about ten years younger than you, I think, and yet my dad at 93-1/2, is downright aggravated, and even offended, that old age is affecting him.

My sincerest prayers for your husband, and the both of you, that his potential health issue isn’t serious again, and that his next scan reveals such.
Sounds like things have already been more than stressful enough.

I’ll be 63 next month, and while I’m by no means close to decrepit, I can definitely feel the mileage from the years.
Frankly, with the way I was before I met Carolyn (my wife), I’m surprised I’ve been around this long, and am doing this well.

Our Mom is 86 and our Pop will turn 93 on Jan. 1st. They’ve really slowed down during the last few years. It was only a few years ago that I was driving by their house while running an errand, and Pop was on the roof with a leaf blower.
Pop retired over 30 years ago, and as active as they were before that, they remained so until recently. It’s tough to witness.

IIRC, the last I related about my next youngest bros lung cancer was that, after treatments at MD Anderson over in Houston, his tumors were shrinking. The major problem is that, even about two months before he was diagnosed, he could barely keep any nutrition down, and still can’t.
Myself, Mom and Pop visited him at his family’s home yesterday. I had not seen him in about a month, and I had to keep myself from audibly gasping at his gaunt appearance, when I first saw him.
He’s in a local hospital tonight for another endoscopy tomorrow, so they can try to figure out the gastro situation, before he can go back to Houston for more treatment. It’s all just so frustrating, but, of course, infinitely more so for he and his family.

On a slightly lighter note…
Although he was pretty weak, we all had a good conversation about family and otherwise, and he was in pretty good spirits, considering.
Directly after we first greeted each other, he pointed at my Disney World t-shirt and asked “Can I have some of that…?!”.
At first, I thought he meant a trip to DW, then quickly realized he meant my fat belly…we all had a bit of a good chuckle over that…!

Anyway, my apologies for the novel, but, again, my sincerest prayers for you and your husband.

Cancer sucks. I am so sorry for all my Magic friends and their families who are going through this. Hugs, love, and prayers to all.

We’ve had a bit of drama here. My brother’s wife decided she wanted to be single again, so she booted him out last week. Even though I’m practically homeless myself right now, he came straight to his big sis (we’re Irish twins, but still).

When we move into my other brother’s basement apartment next week, he’ll come with us. This will be the first time the three of us have lived under the same roof since 1986. Back then, Mark (RIP Bro) was still with us, of course.

The previous tenant left things in a bit of a mess, so I’ve been over there cleaning. We’ll move our furniture in on Friday.

It’s definitely a basement, but Jamie has freshly painted and I’ve been shampooing rugs and cleaning. He says this is the cleanest the bathroom has been in years.

No rec room/bar area pics yet, as we have to do a dump run on Friday. Yay!
