Here's another one! Hope all goes well with your present health situation.

Send you some good vibes. Hope all is going to be well.
Thank you SOOOOO much everyone. Based on info I got yesterday looks like it's a thyroid thing. To the endocrinologist I go!! Just really nice to have some answers at this point.

Speaking of medical jargon, I just finished five consecutive days of Radiation Therapy trying to eradicate my Prostate Cancer. Based on that and some chemical injections as well, the prognosis is looking pretty good. I'll have a better idea in about 6 weeks when I have a follow up and, hopefully, a favorable PSA test and I'll be home free until the next old age problem rears its ugly head. Although, it appears that they are planning on monitoring it every 6 months until the end of time, nothing much is changing except what department monitors it. The last 10 years it was the Urology Dept. Now it is Radiation Oncology. All I can say is Hallelujah.

I'm glad things are looking good. Fingers crossed for good news at your follow-up.

Count yourself fortunate (it seems that you are). My husband had a small cancerous tumour removed from.his lung 18 months ago, after getting NY State's free lung cancer screening for smokers. It was an ordeal. He recently had his follow-up scan, where his surgeon noticed "something that wasn't there before", very tiny, he claims to be not overly concerned, but wants another scan in 3 months, and if the something has grown, he may be looking at surgery again.

Moral.of the story: monitoring is good, accept and appreciate it...as the saying goes, old age isn't for the weak.

My sweetie is about ten years younger than you, I think, and yet my dad at 93-1/2, is downright aggravated, and even offended, that old age is affecting him.

Onward and upward! Glad to hear you're on top of your own medical situation.

I'm quite a few years younger than your Dad, but I am aggravated and offended many times a day.🙂 What I found as Ironic is that we had been told for years that exposure to lead and radioactive rays causes cancer and yet in order to stop the evil cancer I must go to a lab that is underground in a lead sealed room while they zap me directly with radiation.

I wonder who the first person was that said, "you know, I think that if we put him in a lead lined room and bombard him with radiation we can cure this problem". Logically, it is no small wonder why so many people reject science. Science is sometimes hard to understand. I just assume that they are a whole lot smarter than I am so I trust them to understand it.

@Goofyernmost sending prayers and pixie you won't have to deal with anything but monitoring for a very long time
Thank you Figgy! The only downside to this whole procedure was that they felt it necessary to put in writing and based on statistical life spans, mine is only under warranty for the next 6.9 years. Way to damn specific. It sounded better when they just said that life expectancy was to age 84. That seems much further away. 🤔 ;)

My fil is sort of going through the same thing, but the good news is the life expectancy remains pretty much the same the same at each visit x.y years left. It went down once then way up the next time, he doesn't even read or listen to that any more
