Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Update:
The swelling was indeed excessive. So much so that it blew out some of the stitches.
Also, definitely allergic to Coban (3M brand of self-adherent bandaging).

Put me on antibiotics (6! a day) for a week due to the open-ness of one of the incisions, and an antihistamine for the blistery rash.

Continue to elevate. Continue to ice. He gave me 7 or 8 packages of 3” x 3” gauze, tape, and 4 old-fashioned tensor bandages for compression as tolerated.

Hoping to see improvement over the next few days. 🙏🏻
So you're saying that someone finally gave you a really big hand? Sorry it had to be said as long as you're old enough to have seen The Ed Sullivan Show.

I had the same system … only with a twenty.
You've got to bet big to win big. I guess you never got that memo!

I remember the biggest jackpot, in physical volume, I ever hit was when I was waiting for a shuttle to take me to the Airport in Vegas. Just casually waiting in the lobby, I started playing the nickel slots to kill time. This happened as the shuttle was due to arrive. I hit the jackpot adding up to $30.00 in nickels. That was when they paid out in cash from the machines. Bells, whistles, horns and loud noises happened as I was looking for something to put 600 nickels into. The cash out area was in the very back of the casino. It was time for my shuttle to show up and I panicked, I went to the hotel checkout and explained my situation if the driver came in looking for me, which I doubt he would.

I couldn't very well bring that many nickels on the plane. I ran back the the cash out and had to wait for two others ahead of me (early morning only one cashier) then she had to run all of them through the counting machine which seemed to take a lifetime. I got my $30 in folding money and ran to the front door just as my shuttle was starting to head on out without me. I yelled for him to stop and thankfully he did. He told me he waited for as long as he could. I gave him a generous tip for waiting out of my winnings and headed home. All of this happened while I was dragging my old fashioned suitcase as well. The first Christmas after that I requested suitcases with wheels.

Moral of the story is two fold: Don't play the slots when you are waiting for a shuttle and, most importantly, gambling is evil and sometimes can force you to do cardio exercises against your will.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Lately, we've been singing "do you remember when it used to snow". We had only 12 inches last winter. Some places less.
We had tons. Tons and tons. And it never melted. No January thaw for us, nor February, nor March. The snow was so high, there was nowhere left to put it.

In January alone, we shattered the average snowfall of 39cm with a whopping 119cm, snowing 24 of the 31 days. February did not let up. March was much of the same, culminating with a once in a generation ice storm that brought widespread hydro outages. Some parts of the region were without power for more than two weeks. (We had just moved to Millbrook, and were luckily only in the cold and dark for <72 hrs.)

It was, as everyone said - a good old Canadian winter, just like we remember from our childhood.

I’m ready for a light winter this year again. A white Christmas is all I really need.
