I haven't seen anyone bring this up yet, but, does anyone get major HR Giger vibes from WDI's "influences?"Even though WDI probably wouldn't want to admit it, Giger is the creator of the ultimate villain architecture, and he himself was heavily influenced by the same periods and movements that WDI is discussing. Giger himself said that his work was influenced greatly by the art neuveau movement “The style that influenced me the most was Art Nouveau, for the elegance of its shapes and drawings. My biomechanoids are influenced by this style, which is architectural and combines machines with a streamlined concept of progress.” Giger is also primarily surrealist, which grew out of the Barcelona Modernisme movement at the beginning of the twentieth century. I don't see how the artists at WDI could not be aware of his work in the context of architectural influences on a Villain-Land. They probably can't come out and say that, but my hopes are high for some gnarly evocative motifs and maybe a hidden xenomorph :).

Giger had visited Disneyland before winning his Oscar which explains the top photo. He is said to have loved Pirates of the Caribbean. I can't find the quote but I recall reading that while Captain E.O. clearly used his style without his consultation he considered it a well-executed take on his vision.

This makes me want to watch "the making of captain eo" again! The documentary certainly shows how they went all out with set detail for that time! That same attention to detail with the new lands could be the best thing disney can do for themselves!

It's a little too quiet here, so what are we thinking for the second major attraction?

Relatively standard coaster with possibly one or two surprise elements (Tilt Track? Drop Track?) + "Scoop Vehicle" Style dark ride (a.l.a. Never Land Adventure [TDS] or Avengers: Infinity Defense [DCA])... it's just a theory... a Disney theory!!

I have a feeling like whatever that E-Ticket Avengers ride in DCA is might be what the other Villains ride is here.
I think Avengers is supposed be very screen heavy, so hopefully they use that vehicle and screen tech, but with a good mixture of physical and AA in the Villains ride, if that is what it is. Like Monsters Unchained. Good mixture of AA, physical and screen--with the AA/physical sets being more heavy.

I will say as someone who went on the PeterPan ride at DisneySea, which is the same ride tech as the Avengers E Ticket, if this is the case we should be happy. It's not a normal screen, its Ratattouie meets Flight of Passage. With immersion and clarity I've never seen. We should be so fortunate if this is used in Villains land. And I would say I do see if they use this ride system having some AA's in there. But the mix between practical and screens with this system is a masterpiece

It’s Disney version of the SCOOP system Universal developed for The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man. More specifically, it’s Disney’s take on Transformers: The Ride – 3D as that’s the ride in California.

Spider-Man is the only time thus far that ride system or Disney's version has actually resulted in a quality attraction, and I don't even rate Spider-Man as highly as others.

yes its there version, but the execution, and ride system, are much better and higher advanced, no video does justice to how special that ride is

Isn't it basically another "park the riders in front of a screen multiple times" ride? Yeah, I'm good on attractions like that.
