Trip Report The Whole Family - One Long Weekend

Hello everyone! I am Concetta and my last trip report it was just me doing four parks in one day in February.....this trip is the complete opposite!

We have 17 people staying in one Airbnb with all the females going to MNSSHP and all the males going to HHN on the same night. Wondering how we got to 17 people? Well this trip was planned because my brother's wife is expecting another baby and we were talking about how we all went when she was pregnant with Cohen and she wanted to go again before the new baby arrives. We decided on the first weekend of September because our main goal is all the Halloween fun and she didn't want to be too uncomfortable while in the park. She is due around Thanksgiving and they announced her arrival on Mother's Day. We each received personalized letters...mine of course was Disney related.

So originally our trip was just 9 people, my family of four (Me, my husband Aaron, our son Joseph, and our daughter Sadie), my brother's family (Patrick, his wife Taylar, their daughter Bell, and son Cohen), and of course my mom, Sandy. Here we are from our trip last September (Cohen's first trip!).

Well on the 4th of July we found out that my step-brother, Matt, moved back to Indiana with his family (wife Filiz, and twin daughters Gwen & Ella), so naturally I invited them to Disney with us. Sorry, I have no picture of them yet. The girls have never been to Disney so that really excites me! I get to be part of their first time!! I purchased them magicband+ in their favorite colors. Then we were talking to my husband's sister, Amber, about how we are going to Disney in September and she decided to join us with her daughter, Amelia and son, Ian. They were just at Disney at the end of July (we were invited but it was the same week as the middle school tour and I didn't want Joseph to not tour his new middle school before attending). That brought the total to 16 people! Well the more I thought about it, the more I felt like Aaron & Amber's mom should come too! She has never been to Disney and the last time she was on a plane was probably 25 years ago. It took some convincing and begging. She is retired so she was a little worried about the financial aspect of the trip. We promised her we would pay for everything, all she has to do is have fun! That brought our total to 17!
We have an 8 bedroom airbnb at Windsor Cay Resorts for Friday, September 5 to Monday, September 8-yes, there are a lot of room sharing. We plan on spending most of our time at the house and then we will split up on Sunday with all the guys going to HHN and all the gals (and Cohen) going to MNSSHP and on Monday morning we all have reservations for Ohana's.

Sounds like lots of fun!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to read about your trip. I hope you take lots of pictures of the party and the house. I would like to see what an eight bedroom house looks like. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for tagging along! We will all be taking lots of photos and I will be gathering everyone's pictures so there should be lots of pics! I am pretty excited about the house because it has a big TV by the pool and we plan on watching Friday night's NFL game while we are all in the pool. I even bought Umbrella straws so it's like we are on a tropical vaca!

This trip might be short but it has been pretty stressful for me. It's not just the trip but it is everything else. Full time employment, coaching my son's soccer team, we have a new kitty, we watched Amelia last week from Wednesday to Saturday, and I was creating costumes and shirts for this trip. Here is a pic of our new kitty, Ripley (named after Sigourney Weaver's character from Alien) and a pic of Amelia and Sadie from last week while they were enjoying ice pops on our back porch.

For the MNSSHP here is our costume breakdown:
Me: Pua
Sadie: Moana
Sandy: Grandma Tala
Taylar: Smee
Cohen: Captain Hook
Bell: Wendy
Amber: Peter Pan
Amelia: Tinker Bell
Filiz: Boo
Gwen & Ella: Mike & Sully (I don't know which one is dressing up as which)
Patty (Amber& Aaron's Mom): she didn't want to wear a costume so I made her a Hocus Pocus dress
Here are what I have made:

I had bought Joseph, Aaron, Sadie, Amelia, Bell, and Cohen shirts for our Ohana breakfast. I made ones for Ian, Taylar, Patty, and myself.

I am finally finished with all my vaca shirt/costume to-do's and now I am focusing on drills to do at soccer practice tonight, finishing packing, finding someone to feed our two cats, placing a grocery order for delivery to the airbnb, and trying to fit in a time when I can get my vaca toes done. I created a menu a couple weeks ago for everyone to review because we plan on spending all day Saturday hanging around the airbnb just enjoying the house and the Windsor Cay waterpark so I wanted to have food everyone likes. Do you know how hard it is to find food 17 people like that is not grilling (because I was not going to spend $100 to use the grill at the airbnb). So we have
Friday Night: hot wings, chicken fingers, and salad (to enjoy while watching the Cheifs vs Chargers game)
Saturday Lunch: at airport
Saturday Breakfast: Taylor Ham, Eggs, and Cheese sandwich on bagels (we are originally from NJ and they do not have Taylor Ham in Indiana so we always get it when we are in FL or visiting fam in NJ)
Saturday Lunch: Hot sandwiches on Hawaiian rolls
Saturday Dinner: Spaghetti, salad, and garlic bread
Sunday Breakfast: Sausage & gravy and cinnamon rolls
Sunday Lunch: free for all! I might go to one of the Disney resorts and have lunch before heading to MK for the party
Sunday Dinner: in the parks
Monday Breakfast: Ohana's for everyone!
Monday Lunch: whatever is left in the house that we have left

Pizza from Flippers is so good! We got it twice on our trip last year and just had it again! Girls are all swimming, adults are watching some tv, and joseph & aaron are in the game room watching Fall Out in preparation of the HHN house. Amber’s family’s decided to go to Disney Springs so we haven’t seen her since MCO.

We all stayed up and watched the game last night. First half while chillin in the pool on the big screen. We watched the second half in the living room with the kids running around playing hide and seek. The house is so big that it took them a while to find everyone. At around 11:30, we sent everyone to bed. My goal was to wake up early and walk to the bagel bros location right outside of the neighborhood. I didn’t wake up as early as I hoped, I got up at 7 and so did Aaron so we headed out. Not sure how long it took but the walk there was extremely nice and comfortable but the walk home was hot! My brother was cooking breakfast when we got back but doing that for 17 people takes a while. I had purchased boba drinks for the girls with the grocery order and they enjoyed that while breakfast was being made.

We plan on hanging out around the house and going to Disney springs later.
