Trip Report 2 broke guys and the deluxe bday trip!

Yes, yes, I know we just got back. We went in the middle of December, then again for Christmas, then again in the middle of January, and now - our third month in a row…

When: Feb 2-4
Where: All-Star Music, and All-Star Music (you’ll see.)

Wait, wait - that’s not right. Pretty close, but not right. Let’s try again.

OK but those were reject “blooper” pics from our last TR. Here’s one where we’re overdressed:

That’ll do.

And…Mickey.

I feel so neglectful! Been so busy the last few days, kept meaning to post updates as plans firmed up - just no time! Even now, I’m up against the clock.

I guess that will just leave some surprises for you (well, most of you 😉.)

The plan was B would get out of work at 5:30, home by 6, and on the road asap. Would we both be ready?

Left the house at 6:22pm.

Arrived…at Disney Springs (woo hoo!) at 9:10-9:15.

This is so much better than arriving late at night via train or plane and going right to bed!

I think this is the first time I haven’t kept up with posting!

There hasn’t been a “spare” moment. I will rewind back to Saturday night: while driving, and after realizing we really would arrive in time Tu - oops, to - go to DS (yes, my phone autocorrects to “Tu” 😆) we examined our options. That was easier said than done with me driving, and Brian gets carsick when he reads.

In the end, we settled on City Works Pour House.

But first, since we had about a half hour before our ADR (lead foot) we stopped next door at Splitsville.

I had the Bees Knees which came with a honey stick and a candy bee 🐝 and Brian had a tropical Lawng Island. (Accent mine.)

These were both great. We could totally hang here.

But not tonight! On to City Works. Two new experiences in one hour. 👍🏻🎂

City Works would be a little less impressive, but still a good time. Upon entering, it was very cold inside, and all sportsballs were pretty loud on TV. Not our scene. We asked to sit outdoors…

which was exactly our scene. Nice temperature, no sports, and a live band across the way.

We enjoyed them!

We also figured out how to get a free app.
IMG_3175.png

The free app was the chicken bites on the right. The bbq sauce was delicious!
IMG_3177.jpeg

On the left were duck nachos.

Both apps were pretty good. This drink, meh.
IMG_3176.jpeg

Something, blueberry, something else. Meh.

Dinner was pork with bbq, mash, and slaw.
IMG_3178.jpeg

The pork was pretty good, a little fatty. The bbq sauces were not as good as the one that came with the chicken, but still good. The mash had no flavor.

Overall, City Works gets a Meh rating. Didn’t hate it, probably wouldn’t bother again.

We thought about doing a bday toast at midnight, but not much of anything Disney related was open that late. A few places at the Boardwalk were open until 12, but not after. And someone online warned me that since the place was so full, they were restricting visitors from resorts. (This proved to be true.)

We knew we had our own Crown Royal Vanilla, so we’d just toast in the room (if we were still awake.)

In retrospect, I wonder about the AMC. I believe they have a bar and stay open later, especially on a Saturday night.

All good - everything at Disney Springs was bonus Disney vacation time! And now it was time to head to our Aloft hotel.

Aloft hotels are set up like…a loft.

This was hanging in the hallway.

Is that regulation? 🤪

The room was very clean, and laid out nicely.

Despite leaving DS pretty late, and fighting awful traffic to get out of there…we were beat, and fell asleep without doing the shots.

Couldn’t wait for tomorrow - a great birthday opportunity had opened up!
