IdkAnd all of DCA was built on a former parking lot. Some imagineers preferred it that way. Iykyk!

Kind of interesting that Monsters Inc will be the first expansion outside the Studios berm since then…RnR was built on what was the original Cast parking lot for the Studios.
It seems it’s easier/cheaper to expand into paved/parking areas.Kind of interesting that Monsters Inc will be the first expansion outside the Studios berm since then…

A berm is a specific type of landscape feature, not just a perimeter. None of the parks at Walt Disney World are encircled by a berm. Magic Kingdom is the only park with a berm that is not a localized landscape feature and even it only partially encircles the park.Kind of interesting that Monsters Inc will be the first expansion outside the Studios berm since then…
To be honest, after they fixed it in 2012 I would disagree. Regarding everything that has happened since Tower was turned into an oil rig, Yes, a parking lot would be preferable. And all of DCA was built on a former parking lot. Some imagineers preferred it that way. Iykyk!
Yes! We used to live in SoCal and frequented Disneyland in the years way before DCA was even thought of (80's). It was so strange visiting earlier this year for the first time in a LONG time and seeing DCA instead of the parking lot.And all of DCA was built on a former parking lot. For a window of time - DCA was a really great park!To be honest, after they fixed it in 2012 I would disagree. Regarding everything that has happened since Tower was turned into an oil rig, Yes, a parking lot would be preferable.
2015 was probably the peak seeing as how that was when Condor Flats was absorbed into Grizzly Peak and Soarin' was still the California version as thematically appropriate for the park. For a window of time - DCA was a really great park!
Move it up to 2014 so we still have muppet vision2015 was probably the peak seeing as how that was when Condor Flats was absorbed into Grizzly Peak and Soarin' was still the California version as thematically appropriate for the park.
2015 was the year we returned to Disneyland after a 10 year absence for my high school graduation trip. I chose Disneyland because of the redone DCA (Cars Land, etc), and I was fully hooked. We loved our trip there that year. I chose to return in 2019 (the last time I was there) for my college graduation trip to see Galaxy's Edge (minus Rise unfortunately), and (while we still enjoyed the trip) Pixar Pier and Guardians Tower were big blights. Aladdin being gone was a huge disappointment too.2015 was probably the peak seeing as how that was when Condor Flats was absorbed into Grizzly Peak and Soarin' was still the California version as thematically appropriate for the park.
The video to me says "This is your project now....Screw this up...And you'll see why there is 999 happy haunts"Well i have already written my articles and I would be forced to follow Iger's IP mandate. No thank you.
The most recent update shows Gonzo "hanging in there." I imagine that, if Imagineering or Archives don't claim it (as they get 1st and 2nd "dibs" on closed attractions pieces respectively), it'll sell for top-dollar to a collector.GONZO Watch: Just curious if anyone has seen if Gonzo is still hanging onto the clock tower in former Muppet Plaza?
I apologize if this was mentioned already, but the more I look at the aerial photos of the footprint the more perplexed I get ...as it seems Monsters Coaster is going to be so particularly far-away from the rest of what will become MonstersLand? That seems like quite a long walk for the guest to make from everything else.Kind of interesting that Monsters Inc will be the first expansion outside the Studios berm since then…
