DHS Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

I do wonder. Last June it was a chore to get a reservation, and it always had a long line. Not sure if much changed between now and then, or Disneyland just doesn’t feel it needs to be a reservable experience anymore. Not worth the hassle for CM’s.

I still remember the surly hostess that staffed the front door of Oga's Cantina in a nearly empty land on my first visit, early evening, in June, 2019. She was barking one word commands at customers in anger, and she looked like she was either ready to have a nervous breakdown and spit on you, or kill a small farm animal just for the blood sport. The task of organizing the half dozen curious tourists that were milling around her hostess stand in an empty land seemed beyond her natural abilities, and TDA obviously hadn't trained her well enough to overcome those personal obstacles.

Can you imagine if the big crowds had actually showed up in 2019 as everyone assumed? Yikes!

There wasn't a Dockers-clad manager in sight; they'd just thrown the surliest and meanest hostess they could find out front to "manage" the check-in kiosk and occasional interested and/or thirsty customer.

If that's how the check-in process worked when the land was several weeks new and everyone was freshly trained and motivated to please (allegedly), I'd imagine it's gone downhill from there and TDA just doesn't want to bother with it any more.

I just hope that young lady got the help, and career change, that she so desperately needed. And Ky'le From Tustin would have been embarrassed for her! 🧐

Yes, if your doing the role-playing episodes on the Play app.

Doing that made me realize just how freaking big SWL is. I don't notice when I'm making a beeline for one of the rides. But the app-game has you wandering all over and you realize, this is... huge.

But the app / game is terribly boring. They completely missed the mark and all they had to do was compare to interactivity of Harry Potter lands. These small interactive moments with basic animatronics, visual effects, screen based is exactly what they got wrong and hopefully they think about fixing it at some point in time (seems doubtful).

Heck, even the Sorceror's of Magic Kingdom screens was so much better than the the scan on your phone.

Don’t know if i’ve seen him out and about before but at the DVC event tonight they had a walk around Jawa in the market area interacting and trading with guests. Wish these guys would walk around during regular hours they really liven the place up!

Sorry for the horrible picture!!!

And now Super Nintendo World has outclassed all of it and you don’t even have to buy the band if you don’t care about keeping score or fighting Bowser Jr.

Maybe if you're a Mario superfan, but in general, I think HP is still better/more fun for the average guest than the interactive stuff in Super Nintendo World.

With the caveat that it is locked behind a paywall since it requires a wand.

Even without the Wanda I find the Wizarding Worlds more interesting

We were at Epic about 10 days ago and spent a surprising (at least compared to what I expected) amount of time just walking around that Wizarding World - so many details and actors and the talking mirror and watching people use their wands, etc.

Nintendo World is cool (and I grew up with the original NES) but felt a little one note that after w how was like, ok, this is cool, I am ok to leave

Both are impressive just in what ad the amount they built

I think the crowds have a lot to do with that; it seems like Nintendo is probably the most "popular" land, with kids running around. Also the way it's designed and shiny plastic everywhere...it feels VERY WARM. IDK if it still is that way this time of year but when i went early June...COOOOKIN' lol.
