Today (August 26, 2025), Unite Here Local 737 and Patina Group Employees have announced a strike authorization vote during a press conference after
Patina Group “failed to make adequate progress in contract negotiations.”

This strike vote will authorize the bargaining committee to call a strike at ANY time after the contract expires. And if this does go through it could be the very first time that employees go on strike in the parks! We're looking at something significant folks. Stay tuned.

Pretty sure Disney wouldn’t allow an active strike in the parks. Could certainly affect those restaurants though.

I mean… it’s happened in Paris, and Disney couldn’t really do anything about it. But perhaps France has different rules when it comes to strikes? Or the French just don’t care and will figure out a way to do it.

Different laws. WDW is private property, Disney could absolutely remove any strikers from property. The impact to this will be to restaurant ops, not to people seeing a picket line in the World Showcase.

It amazes me that in this day age, we still have companies that turn a blind eye to employees complaints of sexual harassment. Patina would be smart to settle this as quickly as possible, even if it cost a bit more than they originally anticipated. Due to the association of the restaurants in WDW, this will get massive more publicity than a normal labor dispute.

Haven't seen it mentioned on any of the Orlando affiliates.
