What a fun looking bar in a theme park. Kids will love it!
Sort of how kids like Rain forest cafe at AK you mean, with the animal animatronics ans and….[insert shocking pause here]ALCOHOL!!!

Or T-Rex at Disney springs. Definately themed for adults with the Dinosaurs and the sand digging play are but I hear some kids like it too and they serve DUN DUM DUUUUM….alcohol!

It’s is odd too considering I don’t know any kids who have ever enjoyed going to Olga’s or that like Star Wars, but who knows maybe it’s working out.

But who knows if this works maybe it will serve as a test case for offering drinks and food connected to other rides, maybe even other pirate related rides? Oh wait, kinda like they have been serving alcohol already inside pirates at blue bayou???

It’s a Small World swim up bar coming soon

I'm not a Geo 82 booster, but a more minimalist bar in that location makes sense and is better themed than something like this would be. Theming doesn't necessarily mean details layered on details or literally recreating a particular type of setting like a pirate bar.

I will also say that there is a place for a quieter experience, and with Geo 82 they are going for a crowd that wants a break not just from the crowds but kids. Beak and Barrel isn't that at all. I will also say that the call and response of the audioanimatronic parrot is not the sort of thing that would appeal to me personally, even if the bar itself looks great.
Geo82 also seemed very loud in the videos I've watched. Don't get me wrong. I wanted to like it. But based on videos and reactions I just don't know. Beak and Barrel I am not expecting to be a relaxing, quiet experience, that's for sure, and that's probably why it will just be a one and done whenever I do it.

Beak and Barrel, aesthetically, is definitely superior, IMO. It's not even close. Geo82 seems very minimally themed in comparison.

Now that hyper themed lounges have become the next big thing, I was thinking what other themes would be cool to explore as a fully immersive indoor venue

-BH6 neon robot lounge in Tomorrowland (something visually akin to Tokyo's robot restaurant)
-Pandora bioluminescent bar with nature reclaiming the space and "natural" sounds
-Incredibles retro futiristic lounge set in the Parr house at DHS
-Monsters Inc monster speakeasy, taking over taphouse

The frozen alcohol bubble drinks that they serve right outside the gift shop for flight of Pandora might be my favorite drink in Florida

I think it looks good. But I also think whatever criticism it got before is still reasonable.
I think it was completely unreasonable to so heavily criticize an unfinished project. Every teaser Disney put out got slammed by some people for the most unreasonable 'reasons.' It was clear some people wanted to paint Disney in a bad light no matter what.

Says the user posting on a WDW fan site. *Those* pixie dusters!!!
I think it’s very clear who are the pixie dusters and who aren’t. I enjoy Disney, but it’s not the same as it once was and their decision making now adays is really questionable at times.

Also the parks and social media are becoming overrun with influencers who ooze about anything and everything they do, for perks, attention, and $ while the rest of us pay more for things that used to be free, scaled back “ah it’s good enough” and budget cut construction that takes years hailed as magical euphoria

I give up on figuring out what people want from Disney.
I’ve given up on trying to figure that out quite some time ago. This is the type of theming and storytelling I always thought Imagineering was known for.

I just really have faith in what I have been seeing upon Bruce Vaughn’s return as the head of Imagineering. He took a mish mash of ideas in DAK and instead gave it a focused, purposeful story, working as best as he can with the IP mandate. He said he came back specifically because of Josh D. I think it is important that there be a strong relationship between the head of Imagineering and the (potential) future head of the company. That appears to be very true with these two gentlemen.

Now that most Chapek era initiatives and park additions are over, I am excited for some of what I am seeing now. Tropical Americas appears to be excellent and very cohesive. I know many are not in favor of the MK changes. I have a hunch though that both new lands are going to be incredible looking with great attractions. We are getting upgrades to BTM and Buzz that look excellent - and bonus, an original character is being added to Buzz, and no IP is being added to BTM. In fact, original characters are popping up in several locations in Buzz, Piston Peak, the new night time parade and the Zootopia show. They could have easily decided to use already established characters but they didn’t. Also, with the addition of the new Animation Courtyard, there will be a ton of new character interactions.

The new Beak and Barrel for me is the first of many new things to enjoy in the next 4 to 5 years.

I doubt that video took much in the way of money or time to produce, relatively speaking. Video editing tools have come a long way and I don’t even know what AI can do on that front.

Regarding the video game theme - I did find that interesting, because what do video games have to do with pirates, right? Like many I enjoy analyzing Disney to try and glean some kind of insight into their thinking and what might be coming next, and I’m wondering if they’re putting the concept of “gamification” out there, trying to build an association between that and the Disney brand. (This is supposed to be foundational to the Abu Dhabi park which makes me lean in that direction - if nothing else it’s probably a concept they’re talking about quite a bit now.)
I think the idea is supposed to be parodying games like "Super Monkey Island" an old point and click game with a pirate theme

Or the REALLY obvious one that literally everyone wants. The Hollywood Tip Top Club.

Enter through a different elevator and boom, beautiful art deco jazzy sort of bar with a thunderstorm or ghosts appearing every once in a while. Would be the easiest slam dunk...

Ah, see, you’re confused again. Rainforest annd T-Rex are full-service RESTAURANTS, not dedicated bars. The conversation moves fast, so I’m sure it’s a totally honest mistake.

(They’re also trashy third-party spots with sub-Disney theming that represent a lot of what’s wrong with the resort so it’s odd you keep bringing them up instead of any of the many great full-service Disney restaurants that serve alcohol.)
