DHS Disney Confirms Muppets Take Over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios

Square peg into a round hole. There are tons of better ideas for the muppets than in an upside down thrill coaster, this was just the quickest and cheapest way to keep them in the parks.
I think there is a reason for that.

I fully expect this ride to be torn down and replaced by the end of the “decade of investment” that just started but there was the immediate issues of losing the rights to Aerosmith and not having anything muppet related in the parks so this puts a band-aid on both those problems until better solutions can be implemented.

I'm not over the loss of Muppet Vision but I'm happy there is still something in the parks that has the Muppets stamp on it. This isn't a new attraction, and not one I ride frequently but I do think they are making a great use here.
The hope (🤞) is that when the Villains show runs its course, they could put MuppetVision there in its place. Then we would have a new Muppets Courtyard/Plaza/Alley. I know. I'm not holding my breath.

I don't really get the choice of changing the theme of thrilling rollercoaster to The Muppets of all things. I would think the key demographic for The Muppets is mostly too small to be allowed to ride. With all of the IP Disney owns I would think they could have come up with a better fit for the ride.
The Muppets’ primary audience is adults, just as it has been for a long time now. The characters haven’t really been popular with kids since the movie with Jason Segal and even then I wouldn’t say it really landed as hard with them as Disney maybe hoped. The Muppets has long been a brand that thrives on the attention and nostalgia paid to it by adults.

Hence why Sesame Street was the kids side of the company and The Muppets being the edgier side. And they ironically have them both in Florida especially having the Sesame Street characters out at the sea world parks..

That is very true, but the primary audience is getting up there and at some point might not be able ride an upside down roller coaster. It would compliment a Muppets show (and really MV3D) so perfectly when the Villains show is up.

Sesame Street and The Muppets were never part of the same company. Henson didn’t create Sesame Street but was hired by Children’s Television Workshop (now Sesame Workshop).

Looks like a great retheme. Still not a fan of loops so have never been on it. I'll be happy to go through the queue then take Gonzo's Chicken Out exit. 🐔

Does anyone know if Paris is a complete clone of Florida? Cause I rode it and it was more intense then I remember it in Florida.

I don’t want to chicken out but……

Okay from the blog, sounds like a pretty light retheme. Same story, just with Muppets instead.

When Delta Dreamflight became Take Flight

I'm just bringing up that characters that were made by the same guy lives in 2 other parks besides DHS in Florida..But in a technical stance they are credited as Muppets.. According to Tough pigs..And the credits from the show.

The Jim Henson created characters were “muppets” and were owned by Jim Henson until 2000.

I’m not sure if they are still technically muppets or not. I consider them muppets but maybe they are technically “sesame street puppets” now?

We're getting a Scooter animatronic? Okay, Disney, you have my attention...
I like it as a retheme for RRC - I think it would be great if it was in addition to another Muppets attraction, not as the only one (currently)
The Electric Mayhem in Rockin’ Roller Coaster is a natural fit imo.

However, there should be more Muppet attractions than just the high speed roller coaster. I want immersive dining, live shows, a dark ride, etc.
This is basically how I feel too.

I do hope within the plaza along with KRNR food stand we see a food truck for Pizza Rizzo...
Hopefully with better food, considering his... rat-like nature and NYC history, I'd like some more unique offerings than plain pizza. Maybe some pizza bagels and some other more fun takes on Italian Foods.

Add in a Miss Piggy French desserts truck + Swedish Chef's... honestly whatever the hell he does and you got a nice group of options that Disney could add in for pretty cheap.

Small mockup idea of what could go there

Blue = Swedish Chef
Brown = Rizzo
Red = Covered Seating Area
Green = The Miss Piggy fountain

Two Sesame Place parks - one in San Diego and one outside Philly - continue to use the Sesame Street characters. I worked at the Philly location in the mid-80s along with a few of my friends/co-workers who later went on to prominent roles with Disney.
