MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

A random X site is posting the "rumor" that The Liberty Belle has been destroyed. Just that. Nothing else. Just letting you know its out there.
A few years ago if there was a rumor that MKs rivers of America was going to be filled in for whatever reason I would not have believed it.

Many years ago if there was a rumor that EPCOTs fountain of nations was going to be removed for whatever reason I would not have believed it.

Nothing would surprise me theses days.

I can't believe people still fall for those clickbait "rumors." Doesn't help that they immediately run here and share it.
I didn't "fall" for it. I posted it to let you know that the rumor was out there. I was very clear on that point. I challenged the poster on X, Mickey Central. They said their source saw it in the backstage canal then it was no longer there. So they somehow extrapolated it was moved overnight in a "covert" operation and "destroyed." I asked if they checked other sources like bioreconstruct before posting. They said they didn't see the link. I sent them links from bio.

Besides, moving it overnight doesn't make it "covert." There's a lot of boat traffic for guests during the day. Probably better to move it overnight anyway.

There is nothing to fall for. Disney does things all the time that makes no sense. Folks may call it destroyed but I am guessing the riverboat will be disassembled and not be reused.

Disney works at a snails pace (except when they are building DCV towers). It just needs some time for this rumor to become fact.

Right now still a rumor. I hope I am wrong.

Yes, I believe that unless there is a buyer out there that wants this boat - Disney is going to dismantle it.

Agreed, and Universal has destroyed some great attractions.

Universal is land locked, they have to destroy and replace they have no choice.

WDW has plenty of land to expand on, IF they truly wanted to ADD, EXPAND.

WDW chooses to destroy and replace. because I presume it costs less to destroy and replace instead of truly expanding.

So my real issue is that WDW chooses to destroy and replace when they do not actually need to.
I don't agree with this decision to destroy Rivers of America and particularly not with the idea of sticking Cars in the middle of Frontierland.

Must say, though, I was watching an old (2006) interview of Diane Disney Miller by Leonard Maltin a few days ago that made me think about a lot of recent discussions on here, including this (to me) weird Uni vs Disney argument about replacing attractions. She made a comment about how what Walt loved about Disneyland vs the films was that he could keep changing it, however she then noted that now the people who really love it won't let them change any of the old attractions which is something Walt never thought would happen.

There a whole load of caveats around this about the current people in charge not being Walt Disney and whether individual changes are positive or negative. Nostalgia is also something that obviously didn't exist in Walt's time for the parks and does now and must be acknowledged. It did make me think about this argument that I keep seeing on here that they just need to keep adding things and not replacing/changing things. There is obviously some nuance on this point as if they had of just kept building outward from the 1971 attractions you would have a very weird resort in 2025. While it may not be necessary for them to replace attractions, that doesn't mean there isn't sometimes a strong case.

How often have the Parks built rides around Disney Channel series?

The most recent example is the Tiana attraction based off the forthcoming (and then heavily reworked/cancelled?) Tiana D+ series.

Not to often - guess if we count things like the Disney Jr shows (Vampirina, etc) those characters made it into the parks. I think it makes sense to have new content for existing IP on D+ that is also in the parks

So Cars is an existing property but now this is something "fresh" when the land opens ... Which would have made a lot of sense for the Tiana series to turn into TBA. I think it would be great to re-release or have a new season of Monsters at work for when Mostropolis opens. Also would probably be good to have Batuu on one of the Star Wars shows (I know it was in one of the animated shows and was in books)

It's important to remember that not everyone has Disney Plus.

I doubt any of the new characters from Lightning Racers will appear in the Cars ride anyhow. Maybe they'll do an episode where the characters go to Piston Peak?

I'm more just saying they've promoted the parks on shows for decades. Synergy with the parks as you wrote.

Figured. @Drew the Disney Dude says it's safe.

To be clear, I don't know what's happening to the Liberty Belle. I quoted Bio's post specifically because of the rumor that it had already been destroyed, when in reality, it's sitting backstage at the marina. Part of me thinks that it would've already been demo'd if they were going to demo it, so I'm remaining hopeful for now.
