Unfortunately, houses prices are still going up here.

The houses they tell say that you can afford on your salary are ugly. And the houses you want are too overpriced. One thing about renting is you don't have to worry about everything that comes with buying a house.

Everything (not just housing) is not sustainable and only going to get worse when everyone loses their job to AI.

And people wonder why no one is having kids.

Very minor. Open trigger finger release surgery of my right pinkie and ring fingers.

I also have moderate Dupuytren’s contracture which complicates things a little, so the percutaneous procedure isn’t an option.

Spoiler: Not gross, I promise

This is what my Dupuytren’s looks like. Not anywhere near advanced enough for surgery, but enough that it complicates the trigger finger release.

So, in regard to part of our conversation the other day…
I was watchin’ a rerun of “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” on the Game Show Network, from 2001, and the below question pops up…!!!!!



It was for $8,000. She had no idea, so she phoned a friend, who also had no idea. She took a chance and guessed “D”.

Okay, I can officially be called old. I pulled something in my shoulder/neck area while drying off from my shower this morning. I can still feel it.

Wait ‘til you’re 62…I sometimes pull stuff when I take a deep breath…!!!!!

Moving truck comes three weeks today! The boss made a last ditch pitch on Monday to get us to stay. We talked about it in the car afterward, but not really in earnest.

God has closed doors up here. Slammed ‘em shut and bolted them.

I’m not even sad anymore. The closer we get, the more I realize how much I’ve missed “home”. I miss my kid desperately. My family and friends too.

Do we have jobs at home yet? Nope. Will they come? Just waiting for God to open those doors.

Again, so very sorry y’all’s previous situation ended/turned out the way it did.
But, taking the bosses last ditch offer sounds like it would have only delayed the inevitable, and taken away from y’all moving on to better things in a timely manner.

I was just scrolling through TikTok and found a video from the Wisconsin State Fair of a singer on the "Strolling Piano", where she plays a piano that she's driving around. And when it comes on, I realize I know the person! She lives in the town I teach in. I wouldn't necessarily call us "friends", but I'm friends with her on Facebook, and we're friendly with each other when we see each other. We drank wine together on a porch last summer, if that counts for anything.
