I’m guessing many people who participate here are known to their family and friends as the Disney person. The specific activity of participating here may be private, but the underlying interest is likely expressed in other ways that others would know. That’s not what I meant when I used the word. Participating in a forum is not the same as parading around in public wearing Mickey ears.
Still not as weird.I’m guessing many people who participate here are known to their family and friends as the Disney person. The specific activity of participating here may be private, but the underlying interest is likely expressed in other ways that others would know.
I didnt want people to assume i lived in a trailer lol, ive mentioned several times the state I live in so I wouldnt be shocked people made that assumption. That is a thing now. Jellyfish lighting does it too. They put up smart lights that you program for every holiday. I'm contemplating it myself. I live in an actual house.
Well, maybe Halloween decorations. It's Halloween season at Disney, you know. Maybe not for anybody else until October. You’re absolutely right! It’s August 6th…time to put my Christmas lights up…lol
No, I think it’s a LOT different, wearing ears outside of WDW, I have no problem if someone wants to wear them…as a Disney diehard with OCD (obsessive, compulsive Disney), I’d certainly start a conversation with them!!I see no difference than an adult wearing a sports team jersey outside of a stadium.
Just compare the number of people you see wearing jerseys outside of a stadium to the number you see wearing Mickey ears outside of Disney. No, I think it’s a LOT different, wearing ears outside of WDW, I have no problem if someone wants to wear them…as a Disney diehard with OCD (obsessive, compulsive Disney), I’d certainly start a conversation with them!!
It’s not on the same level as wearing a team jersey out of the stadium…now going to a sporting event and wearing another team’s jersey is a little “unusual”
(kinda like wearing a Rolling Stones shirt to a Taylor Swift concert), but hey! Different Strokes…![]()

You’ll get a good idea of which is more unusual.
Unusual is generally defined as not habitually or commonly occurring or done. Numbers (how often something occurs) are used to measure what is common or usual.Unusual from a numbers perspective.
To what degree one is more unusual than the other from a social perspective/judgement is arbitrary.
Yup, we agree…Just compare the number of people you see wearing jerseys outside of a stadium to the number you see wearing Mickey ears outside of Disney.

I don't know. I wouldn't look any different to someone in Pittsburgh wearing a set of Mickey ears than I would towards someone in Orlando wearing a Penguins game jersey. They both seem equally out of place but who really cares. No, I think it’s a LOT different, wearing ears outside of WDW, I have no problem if someone wants to wear them…as a Disney diehard with OCD (obsessive, compulsive Disney), I’d certainly start a conversation with them!!

I've seen people wear Mickey Mouse ears at Loew's Royal Pacific on youtube.Curious if anyone has ever seen someone trying to get into Universal while wearing mouse ears, or, someone trying to get into WDW while wearing Harry Potter robes.
I'm assuming either one would be arrested at the gate before being able to enter, but some people are clever and can find ways to slip in, with said garbs unnoticed (?)
I've seen ears in USO. Can't say I've ever seen robes or wands in Disney.Curious if anyone has ever seen someone trying to get into Universal while wearing mouse ears, or, someone trying to get into WDW while wearing Harry Potter robes.

Some people still go to the magic kingdom expecting to find the wizarding world of Harry Potter. In other words I’ve never seen it but I am sure that it happens.Curious if anyone has ever seen someone trying to get into Universal while wearing mouse ears, or, someone trying to get into WDW while wearing Harry Potter robes.

My wife wore a Mickey Mouse baseball cap to Universal Studios about 15 years ago. We were there before opening queuing up and two older gentlemen who worked on the gates were walking up and down the line doing a double act comedy routine with the guests. When they reached my wife it was announced "I smell a rat ladies and gentlemen" and they looked at her. She took it well and smiled and removed the hat as which point they told her to put it back on and gave her a hug. As we entered the park they actually handed her a Universal Studio hat one of them had and had a quick chat with us. She still talks about it to this day.Curious if anyone has ever seen someone trying to get into Universal while wearing mouse ears, or, someone trying to get into WDW while wearing Harry Potter robes.
