Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

I got a pack on Amazon that includes something for each major holiday, so I have something for the whole year, except I'll have to figure something out for May. I thought about just getting a cheap inner tube from the Dollar Tree and putting it around the neck. I also got a pajama outfit for when we do pajama days.

It's a bit pricey when you add everything up, but I mainly used donations for it. My aunt gave me $50 when I put out my class Amazon wishlist and told me to use it however I want for my classroom. And then I had some gift cards students gave me as gifts last year. I like to hold onto those and use them for something classroom related, rather than personally.
I hope there is at least 1 Disney outfit. Little Mickey ears or bandana.....

Not getting sprung from the sling for a few more weeks.    Wine tasting road trip Friday:inlove::inlove::inlove: For some reason my family is hiding from me. One went to mow the lawn without being asked, the other is taking care of tomatoes, again without being asked:eek: Dh in man cave, just ordered me a new headspace measuring tool (old one is warped)
I’m so sorry. That sucks for you.
Did they say why?

Nothing on FB please. Mike still hasn’t told his family.

Moving truck comes three weeks today! The boss made a last ditch pitch on Monday to get us to stay. We talked about it in the car afterward, but not really in earnest.

God has closed doors up here. Slammed ‘em shut and bolted them.

I’m not even sad anymore. The closer we get, the more I realize how much I’ve missed “home”. I miss my kid desperately. My family and friends too.

Do we have jobs at home yet? Nope. Will they come? Just waiting for God to open those doors.

I'm sorry that things didn't work out for you. But if you are moving back to where your kids are that is a good thing. Praying for the best for you both.

I was just scrolling through TikTok and found a video from the Wisconsin State Fair of a singer on the "Strolling Piano", where she plays a piano that she's driving around. And when it comes on, I realize I know the person! She lives in the town I teach in. I wouldn't necessarily call us "friends", but I'm friends with her on Facebook, and we're friendly with each other when we see each other. We drank wine together on a porch last summer, if that counts for anything.

Trying to refresh my memory -- did you sell your previous house (I think you did -- just wasn't sure if the sale had actually happened yet). Anyway, onward and upward for the both of you -- better days are ahead.

Every job and every boss is different. Some years ago, I was listening to a job coach. He mentioned that it was never a good idea to accept any counteroffer (and/or last ditch pitch, as you mentioned). Reason was that if a person made the decision to leave a job that was bad, no amount of extra money, nor promises of a "better situation" would "fix" the issues that drove the employee to quit in the first place.

Good luck with the move. Things will work out!! Do you have any idea what kind of job you want to look for? It sounded like you didn't want to do real estate anymore.

I will continue with my particular niche real estate career in the future, but for now the market is DEAD - historically low. In my 36 years, I have never seen it so bad; nor have the statisticians.

The market was due for a ginormous correction. The year over year price increases were unsustainable. Lots of factors to blame. Lots of factors to correct.

I’m having hand surgery a few days after we move, so I’m not even looking for a job until October’ish. Honestly, a nice little mindless retail job would be fun as a placeholder. The RE market might rebound in 26 … maybe not until 27. No one has a crystal ball.

Sending prayers and pixie dust, for a speedy recovery and life sorting itself out xoxo
