Let's say that you have one single day ticket for either of these two parks, which park are you choosing? Both parks have very similar names that people mix it, with them both having "Hollywood" and "Studios" in the name, both parks have studio themes, thrilling rides and lands themed to popular Disney/Universal movies, and both have a mix of attractions, shows and fun theming throughout the parks.

Which park is superior, has better rides, more fun, etc? Which is the better park?

The 1+ hour long Glamor Tram Studio Tour gives USH a huge edge. You could close several rides at USH and it would still win over DHS because of the real tram tour.

But then when you add in the Glamor Tram experience, USH is clearly the winner. They also get an extra point for spelling Glamor the wrong way, in that fabulous 1960's form of playing games with vowels and making words look sleeker and more modern. Disneyland used to do that too in the 1960's... Adventure Thru Inner Space... Date Nite.... etc.

Do you think they were deliberately going for the British spelling? To make it more, you know, glamourous?

DHS is the worst domestic Disney or Universal Park, despite having my favorite attraction at any Disney or Universal Park (ToT) along with a top 5 (Rise) and some top 25 (Mickey, Mania.) That said, I prefer USF to USH. USF has Diagon, a better Mummy, the best theme park shooter, a pretty darn good night show, a fun parade, a slightly better stuntshow (they are both excellent.). I also really can’t separate USF from IoA as I never visit one without the other. It’s no contest if I bring IoA into it.

Wait so USH > DHS, DL > MK and the San Diego Zoo > AK? Why am I spending all this money to go to WDW for? Epcot? Just kidding hahah, kind of.
You raise a good point. I’d take DL/DCA over WDW any day*. Combine DL/DLR with USH and it’s a no brainer**

*I also think Grand Californian may be better than most /all of the WDW resorts.

**I am developing a fondness for USF/IOA. We have two Disney cruises over the next year and planning on a USH/IOA/EU add on, and not even considering doing the same for any WDW park.

Tbh I think they’re apples/ oranges. I think with WDW you have to view it as the whole package. The city/ vacation destination it is with 4 parks, 2 water parks, 20+ hotels etc. As a lifelong Disneylander that has been to DLR times as many times as I have the price tag on a WDW vacation can make you pause and weigh your options. If we traveled more or had more disposable income it might be a different story. I’m excited to finally go. There's been such a build up it almost feels like a rite of passage at this point.

Because WDW provides more than theme parks, DL and DCA have always been better parks to me but I still think WDW provides a better overall vacation. For a short 3 day vacation I’ll take DLR every time but for anything over 5 days I’ll take WDW every time.

Edited to add we prefer DCL over all the parks now for short or long trips.

DL is the best US park but I’ll take Epcot and DAK over DCA anyday.

For resorts, AKL is easily the most unique with live animals roaming the savannah, great restaurants and highly detailed theming. I’d also put Grand floridian, Wilderness lodge, Ft wilderness, Old key west, Polynesian, Boardwalk are all better than GCH.

Not the British spelling, just the actual spelling that we used to exercise before us Americans got lazy and decided to start dumbing down words. Don't even get me started on my frustration of Doughnuts becoming Donuts.

I went to USH on Thursday (for the first time, I believe, I might have gone there 30+ years ago as a child) and I've been to DHS multiple times so I believe I can finally chime in.

As a theme park DHS wins by a significant margin. I believe it's got a better variety of attractions and shows and will only get better after the Monsters expansion is complete.

The one thing that USH has over DHS is the tram tour and USH's tram tour is better than DHS's was before DHS removed theirs.

Islands of Adventure and Epic Universe are Universal's best theme parks. USH is better than USF but I actually like Diagon Alley better than USH's Super Nintendo World. The rest of USF is just "meh" though.

For me it comes down to what I will ride/do in each park. Those being:

Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, The Studio Tour, Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge, Jurassic World - The Ride, Revenge of the Mummy - The Ride, and Transformers - The Ride 3D (Meals at Three Broomsticks and Toadstool Cafe')

VS.

The Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror and Rock n' Roller Coaster (Meal at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant)

Shame, really. If Hollywood Studios still had Muppet*Vision 3D, that probably would have been enough to actually give it the win.

Really no rise, mania, or runaway railway? I would add those to the list for 5 rides at least but I still give the edge to universal.
