I think during the annual legislative meeting from last year, Michael Moriarty stated that the 20th Anniversary would include a returning attraction. If not PTN, then what other attraction could be returning?
First Thing: Did He even mean Entertainment??

To be fair what could they bring back that’s not entertainment, it’s not like they have an empty show building to bring back an old ride

And almost none of HK’s rides have overlays except arguably space
That's Fair! Sorry! It was My first thought of the Morning, still waking up......

Ok, so didn't he meant like Philharmagic? Also, would you mind providing the timestamp when he said that? Thanks!

Stitch encounter? After the big success of the movie it seems like a wasted opportunity not to bring that back!

I think he meant a parade in general and they did with the Friendtastic. I wouldn’t have high hopes on getting the Paint the Night coming back anytime soon but that’s just a feeling.

In my mind, Friendtastic would be a new offering. When he made that statement last year, Philharmagic, Orbitron, and the Treehouse were still open. If it’s not PTN, the only thing that was resurrected from the dead recently was the River View Cafe.

I have such amazing memories of nighttime parades at our parks all around the world, and I am so excited for that experience to return to Walt Disney World.”

Jeff Vahle, President of Walt Disney World about the brand new Disney Starlight Parade today.
I’m sure brand new parades can be considered as returning offerings for Disney 😉

I saw that too 🙂 My point is just that the “returning offering in 2025” was most probably the daytime parade.

Paint the Night might return at some point but they’ll bring it back only if and when they need to boost attendance what I doubt will happen this year with seasonal entertainment just around the corner.

The reason I personally doubt it will ever return is that the parade premiered more than a decade ago and that they might just want to bring something new instead.

I don’t think they would’ve kept the floats around if they weren’t going to use them again. We see 3 out of the 7 floats in the pictures above and we know that Mack is still around also since they use him for the marathon.

I have a small feeling that HKDL is slowly bringing PTN back. In 2024, they had the cast celebration "Echoes of Enchantment", and that section featured projection mapping for the "When can I see you again?" portion. They have reused this exact same projection mapping for their 2025 New Year's Eve Countdown. I don't see why they just randomly made a "light-inspired" projection for the castle for 2 shows. This could potentially serve as a beautiful backdrop while Paint the Night runs. Again, just speculation, but I'm still manifesting for this parade to be back!!!!

Disneyland Paris kept most of the floats from the Fantillusion for years after it ended and they were also shown in documentaries. So I wouldn’t take the fact that Pain the night floats are still there as a guarantee it’ll return.

Same for the projections on “When can I see you again”. Other Disney parks are quite often creating projections that are only used once or twice and quite often making reference to parade from the past.

I obviously know nothing about Hong Kong Disneyland’s plans to bring Paint the Night back or not and I’d love to be proven wrong but what I do know is that nothing we’ve seen so far is actually hinting at its return…

You are right lol. I just miss the parade a lot and I feel like this would serve as an excellent nighttime entertainment once the 20th anniversary is over. Perhaps they didn't want to bring it back during 20th anniversary because Disneyland has it too?

HKDL confirmed they will be debt free by the end of the year. Also announced that the creative for Spider-Man is almost complete. Ground has already broken for both Pixar and Spider-Man with Pixar opening first.

Adding that the Sec. of Leisure and Tourism mentioned that the new Marvel-expansion will include multiple attractions (she described it as like "World of Frozen"; which has a major attraction, and follow up attractions), this is particularly interesting to me on how long it will take them to finish this expansion. I have a feeling that this entire expansion land will open before 2028.

Does anyone know how long Spider Man could take? What was the construction schedule for the other towers around the world?
Honestly, no idea. They have to build the entire "skyscraper" from scratch, and there are accompanying buildings beside it. So, probably 3-ish, 4-ish years?
