Why are we still talking about mobile ordering on the Cars attractions thread, especially as no dining has been announced for the Piston Peak area. If they were to do any dining, it would likely be a snack stand, maybe like this guy?

Some thoughts on expectations - walk around new fantasyland. That’s kind of what we should expect. The fancy rockwork is there. The waterfalls are there. It’s not “bad” - in fact several places look quite nice, especially at night.

But I’ve yet to see any current imagineers (post Joe and Kevin projects) able to accomplish what the 1st and 2nd generations did.

Look at this art from Herb Ryman….

I hate that people place the blame of current Disney disappointments on the engineers.

They are doing what is asked of them and budgeted for. If management doesn’t want something it doesn’t matter what level of talent is underneath them.

But it’s always easier to blame the workers I guess.

Agreed! Its about budget!!!!!!

If the Imagineers was allowed what they wanted to do, and not told, "Do what you can with this much money", could you imagine what we would get!!!

Walt Disney Imagineering has the biggest budgets in the industry.

Management gives program requirements, not the design.

But they’re still spending money at a specific venue and have to be accommodated at that venue.

They’re not eating virtually.

No they are not eating virtually. They are committing to sale. The five min walk to wait(and often more) is very different than the current seating space or having to have more checkout. Throughout can change.

It earns more sales. It makes Disney more money, otherwise, it would not exist.

So it’s beneficial for Disney and gives guests a good option.

Beneficial to operations, throughput and number of sales.(someone hungry in the oark can now submit an order before changing their mind to eat off property or just waiting to eat later)
No real gsats showing too positive. Indifferent there. So more self serving.
But it is great marketing. Numbers of sales and AoV all up.

What do the gsats show about mobile ordering? Do you have access to them and when are they from?

I’m only asking because I know there on people on these boards who have access to that type of information.

I think what Rolly Crump said holds most true. Disneyland(parks) have lost their handmade touch and attitudes.

In a sense it is very formulaic and safe. That feeling even at the MK is leaving rapidly.

Marketing analysis. Results are good for profits but gsat feedback are negligible. They are considered a pinchpoint when it is when it is mobile only, which some leadership at Disney and Universal are starting to realize...slowly.
AoV and sales themselves are up, which is most important.
